    Headset's - Which one?

Ok people I'd like a little advice here!

Now I don't play MMO's on the XBOX so have never really had the need for a headset!

But I have started using the real bad one that comes with the unit.

I would like a better one, but obviously have no idea which one to get...
I will not be spending a lot of money on it, as I would only use it for this game and nothing else.
So any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance Ladies and Gents!

I've had this thing for 4 years and it hasn't crapped out yet

I used to use the cheapest Turtle Beach headset for awhile and for being the cheapest it was quite good all around. However they did eventually break. A more expensive one might of lasted a lot longer and provide better quality.

Alot of people would probably suggest the almighty Astro A40s but they are pretty expensive and if you aren't playing a shooter I don't see any real point. Bit overkill for any other game.

I plan on buying myself an Afterglow headset. Technically there is only one type of headset that they sell on their official site, there are others but as far as I know they didn't compete well. The wired Afterglow headset is 60$ and the Wireless headset is around 80. No difference between the two besides the wired/wireless part. From the looks of things they seem to be pretty damn good especially for the price. I'd suggest checking them out yourself.

If you want a decent and affordable one, go with the Turtle Beach x42's.

They're not too costly and get the job done with 5.1 dolby surround and wireless mic.

Make sure you get rechargeable batteries though otherwise you'll burn a hole in your pocket pretty quickly..

I've had the wireless earpiece (halo reach edition) and its lasted 3 years(and going)it still holds 8+ hours fully charged. Granted its not good for pro gaming but for casual gaming its light comfortable. I also have turtle beach x11 (PC/360) (wired and have lasted 2 years and going) they are good quality and great sound. Also they are way better than the x12s (poorly made). The crappy headset that came with the 360 (over the head one ear) have allways been a 3 month before something happens. I'm a casual gamer so I don't see myself paying the big bucks for a headset like Tritons or Astros. A good starting set would be turtle beaches (which I recommend for FPS type games and basic earpiece for casual rpg style games)

I have used turtle beach headsets and i find them outrageously overpriced for being average to below average headsets...the stock/default mic is pretty much all you need, and this is coming from a hardcore BF3 player. I have knifed kids over and over with them calling me a hacker cuz they have turtle beach headsets and would have heard me coming up behind them. IMO TB are just a label. My friend got a afterglow headset, when he got back to base and set it up...it sounded like he was screaming yet he was talking with a normal voice. IMO stick with the genuine Microsoft mics, they are cheap and do the job at a equal level with all the overpriced mics and if you take care of it, it should last you a couple years.

Go with a Tritton Headset. I had a Turtle Beach X12 headset and it broke completely within 2 months. I have the Tritton Halo 4 Trigger headset and it is sturdier and has better sound and a better mic than the TB X12. It's overpriced on Amazon right now at like $150 but this is the same thing only it's not a Halo 4 Trigger, just a regular trigger and it's lower priced than the TB X12.
