I went online today and ordered a copy of Dead Island Riptide, and I feel pretty good about the order seeing as I got a good amount of play out of the first, and a lot of my friends are probably going to play the sequel. It will be coming tomorrow.
So tonight I was thinking I would gift my in game collection of items away. Don't bother asking for them. I made a couple friends in this game, and I would like them to have them. I have five orange weapons, a dozen purple weapons/items, and over a hundred thousand in scrip. I think they are going to play this game for a few more weeks. So they will definitely get some good use out of them.
My question to this community is this, and I want to do right by this community is. Do you feel in any way that this will hurt your own experience with the game. Like I may be giving them a unfair advantage, or that it will diminish the value of your gear? I personally don't have any intention of coming back to the game. I had some fun while I was here, but the way the game plays has stopped being fun for me, and no content that could be added will change that. So please don't bring up the just in case argument.
Do you think this will hurt you, hurt the game, or damage the games economy. What little there is of it. What I want to know I suppose is if you would prefer me to take my ball with me when I leave, or leave it with my in game friends. Would it be better for leaving players to leave a surplus of orange/purple gear to those that are staying behind?
