Episode 2 was down .33 million viewers to 2.40 from last week's episode's 2.73
Ratings in the 18-49 demo was down to 0.8 from last week's 1.0.

That's to be expected from the 2nd episode of like... any new show. Though it's still higher than most of the stuff on SyFy.
It's a decent show, but not great. I expect those ratings to continue falling.
not going to details.. it was watchable but overall boring.
I actually even fast forwarded some parts (long boring conversations).
It was nothing special, it wont catch huge fanbase and audience if it continues like this.

I'm expecting Syfy to do to Defiance what they did to Tremors the Series if ratings drop too low. The biggest problem so far IMHO opinion is too much powshtako drama and not enough Hellbugs and Votan blasters. Next episode should fix this.
Anyone else legitimately surprised that (other than the ex-Mayor who is obviously going to turn out to be working with Votans at some level eventually) of the Hatfields and McCoys it's the aliens that are total bastards? Humans are okay for once!

Are you guys freaking serious?!??! It's the SECOND episode of SEASON 1..... THEY HAVE TO SET THE STORY BEFORE THEY CAN DELVE DEEP INTO THE ACTION.....
Viewer numbers don't mean CRAP..... Look at shows like Arrested Development which had VERY low numbers but was an AMAZING show.....Netflix picked up the show after it got canceled and now netflix is about to release the next season in may....

I actually enjoyed the past episode. Are people really complaining about the lack of action? I'm actually enjoying the character development and the characters overall being set/us becoming familiar with them, which means the small conversations and such.

It happens to many shows after they start, the question is... will they keep going down every week?
people expect way too much action, this is a drama, and you personally a series where you have all the time action and no story it's boring as hell.
ps: i have enjoy a lot the second episode personally, the rythm was good and we learn more about defiance into it.
