Also for a monitor, getting a TV is a bad idea. Any decent monitor will always look better then any HD TV you can buy just for the pixel ratios.
    550W Max? You're nuts!

My MINIMUM PSU from eXtreme PSU Calculator is 700W. MINIMUM!

my 3 70" 1440p 1khz refresh rate 3d "tv's" would disagree with you.. several models not only double as, but are supported by default on systems as monitors... of note.. defiance isn't particularly graphical....playing reclined in leather, in my theater room, with 7.2 surround sound (9 channel is coming soon from Dolby, it adds a vertical element, but it all pales compared to uncompressed pure audio).. well.. really can't be beat. while the overall, technical pixel by pixel resolution is variable and compared.. the overall image and experience is what is important..

I could say the best monitor for resolution would be an I-pad if resolution were the only thing that mattered.
    Antec skeleton Frame, 3960x @4.8Ghz, 32Gigs DDR3@2400Mhz, dual GTX690's in quad sli, 1440p@1khz refresh rate, 70"x3.
