The game needs two types of Scope mode IMHO.
A non-scoped "scope" mode that purely adds bonuses based on hip firing or such.
The current Scope that actually is a scope and adds bonuses related to viewing down a scope.

I honestly didn't notice this or nor do I even care. My assault rifle performs way better now that I can fine tune my aim with a proper aiming reticle of a scope instead of the jumpy inaccurate crosshairs.
the only time it'd be practical to put a scope on a shotgun is if it's a slug gun and you're hunting deer and shooting out past 100yards lol...other than that... meh no reason

Sometimes the innards of a program require much more work than finding where the wrong sign was used. The code Jim wrote on a bad day is screwing with Tony's calculations in a way that nobody can easily see. Stuff like that.
And I *can* disagree. I can claim that the new full-auto assault rifle I got last night would be far better to shoot at distant objects if I had better zoom and a tiny dot to line up against the target, instead of the kinda-X thing I see now that includes a token, useless amount of zoom. It does NOT matter that every single bullet I fire goes directly to that dot as long as a bunch eventually do. If the dot is bigger than the object I'm shooting at, I should move closer. If I see numbers rising, I will not risk moving closer. That's my stay-safe battle technique.
The current scope bug does not render weapons useless. At worst, they become a mini-game that requires a small amount of compensation. Of course, this is because I've seen far worse weapons. Mass Effect 3 had a full-auto sniper called the M-90 Indra. At about 30 meters, the spread of the Indra's shots had to also be measured in meters, because if you looked at someone else shooting it, you'd swear the shots were coming from different rifles. If each bullet followed the previous one, like my Valiant did, the Indra would have been completely OP and very desirable. Perhaps Trion is using scopes that aren't completely beneficial to balance the game. Perhaps not. However, since I've already fired that new assault rifle and find the sight wanting, it WILL be modded. And I doubt I'll regret it because it sucks NOW...
Would you put it on a CQB weapon like an orange FRC Nomad Smg though? I feel like all the scopes are sniper scopes I wish there was some lighter scopes that didn't obstruct as much view. Like the Kobra RDS from Battlefield 3 for example. The bug or glitch with scopes not working correct is a whole other conversation.
