Gear drops

Can you get anything better than a blue item drop in the world?? I have never seen anything above a blue item drop off any mobs? Also, does instances give you a better drop rate?

Not sure, I haven't seen any orange or purple drops yet. I assume if it is possible to get through drops then it's incredibly rare.

I've done numerous dungeons, arkfalls, wandering hulkers and monarchs and etc etc, and I don't think I've ever seen higher than a blue drop.

A friend of mine and I were killing the hulker that spawns for the project aegis 1 mission, and he said he got a purple drop, so apparently it does happen, though I've never had anyone else confirm this.

I've gotten mostly purples (from ark-falls and lock-boxes), which is more than sufficient, as it's near pointless to get attached to weapons in this game, aside for PvP or maybe arkfalls, and even then, it isn't a game breaker, since Defiance is skill/reaction > gear.

On a related note - I've only received two oranges ever, both from tier 3 lock boxes (I've had no luck with the tier 4, and I tried a lot of them), one of which decided to run away from me after I logged out one night.

Anyway, that's the run down of my drop experience, playing since launch, more than I should be

Not a single item above blue quality after 3 months and over 120k kills in beta/live. Name a world generated mob and I probably have killed it a couple thousand times now.

Only purps that comes as a 'drop' is from major arkfalls and those are just shields/grenades.

Pretty much, gear comes from super rare vendor sale and or lock boxes.

Anyways, will be lvl 3k tonight maybe and not one single orange so far. /flex

Thanks guys....I just assumed it was vendors and arkfalls only. What I don't understand is some of the perks are about drop rates percentages and also the scavenger synergy is also one for increased drop rates......why even have it if you aren't going to increase your chances for better loot drops from mobs?!?

I have received one Orange weapon from my 2nd lvl 4 box but it just doesn't make sense to buy those but I have had nothing but bad luck with lvl 3 box.

I have gotten several orange and purple drops. I have the just reward perc tho. maybe that may make a difference. mostly ****ty grenades tho

ive got more from drops than buying the 4th level packages from the lock boxes. every time ive waisted 64 keycodes for stupid weapons with melee synergy or basic weapons I find in drops all the time. every time I buy a synergy set I get the damnin brutal synergy set with melee boost. who runs around using melee ? its useless. ive got 4 in a row with that synergy. I don't even buy them anymore

I got an orange from the lock boxes and another from a friend. What i like to do is save up 72 key codes and 6000 scrip than buy 3 tier 3 lock boxes at the same time. I feel like getting the 9 items at once gives u a higher percentage to see an orange or purple that's just imo though.

Purple / Orange drops from keyboxes. Near anything you do awards you keys or gulanite (to buy keys)
