EDIT: Ok update on this guys, i spoke to Lance James "community manager" on twitter about this issue and he told me they were not aware of this problem but he is getting data sent to him to see how exactly its working. So we may see burst mags for infectors getting deleted from the game.
or changed to actually increase the burst by one. no need to be so dramatic. or they may leave it, who knows. unlikely but one can dream

So SAW shotty in one hand and a Immunizer and a burst Mag in the other under a cloak build. We need something to try to help against all the hackers who are just editing their LMG to do 99,999 damage and have a shield with 99,999 defence.

It's not nearly as OP as a shotgun. I use an immunizer and normally get a tonne of assists (anywhere from 8 to 16) and not that many kills, because it's long range and I get to deal a bit of damage on everyone but not much on a single person. Most people can avoid the attacks. I also then just get one shot with a shotgun. Infectors are terrible close range shotguns. They can't nerf infectors even more by nerfing the burst mod and still keep shotguns how they are. I will use a different weapon as soon as they nerf shotguns, since right now I need the infector to help shoot and reveal cloaked targets from range. It is still no good if someone opens up on me out of stealth, if I don't instantly die I have to swap weapons and throw a grenade and pray.

Edit: they will probably say it's a bug for the infector but a balance issue for shotgun, then truly make the game shotgun only.

Where can you get a burst mag for infectors? I've been using infector + BMG since right after the game came out. Not necessarily for the help aiming ( my aim is pretty bad on PC though,) but because i like the support style role. I use the FX Tactical Innoculator to snare people. It doesn't do any burst damage but it spawns bugs like crazy. I want an army of bugs.

What if you used a burst mag on a regular innoculator that was already full auto? I've never seen a burst mag so i dont know what they do.

its about time someone brought it up. this thing has been op for a long time now. theres a good reason why like 85% kills are shotgun, 10% infectors, 5% others. i've seen people with this infector set up and blurr. you cant touch them while they are strafing/running around and all the homing damage/bugs are eating your *** alive.

you could if you used something other than shotgun or explosives :P. a lmg/ar/smg puts out way more damage than a infector, so long as you can aim.

i assume it would make it burst, that's how the burst mag for assault rifles works.

i usually come out at top or near top in competitive match/shadow war and i use an AR. even with mouse sensitive almost to the max, its very hard to hit someone zooming all over the place with blurr on.

You haven't used one, and apparently suck.
