Damn, I think I going to wait until the season ends to do episode missions. Question tho, Will it said episode mission on the map?

the episode missions had a slightly different symbol on the map and map legend
Disappointed we still haven't seen more on this yet. Or am I missing something new that came out?
I think people complaining about episode missions aren't justified. Christmas events and the like usually only come once a year and vary each year making them totally unrepeatable, right?
Also, they confirmed we'd be getting new episode missions every other episode. Episode 3 missions will drop next week. Keep your eyes out for stars on the map.
I'm Era (Account name: Strifera) on PC-NA. Friend me if you'd like in game or on the forums.
Without trying to take any side, I do like the way it is at the moment. However, the difference is that I have the time to play these as soon as they are available, whereas some do not. I wouldn't really care if they were available all the time, at least people could play them at their leisure then. Maybe an opt in/out choice when creating a new character as to wether content disappears or stays at the allotted time would have been better.
I do wonder though, as the Defiance experience is a joint venture between Trion and Sy Fy, wether there are restrictions on when they add/remove content, and what they can talk about it. As Defiance isn't solely their IP, there could be restrictions to everything they do. If this is the case, then saying then can or can't do something could be unprofessional or even against agreements they may have in place. This is just speculation on my part and may have no truth whatsoever. I do hope that this is resolved sooner rather than later though for the sake of those missing out.

I'll be able to complete anything Trion would throw at me as episodic content with little effort and did so with the Episode Missions and Episode 1 & 2 Puruits.
Now that I have completed them they are practically content that's not in my game anymore. Would I have skipped the whole thing I would be annoyed if it wouldn't disappear as Nolan and Irisa can't be in two places at once and it's bad for immersion purposes. But since I completed the missions I'm not effected by them in any way, shape or form in my game Nolan and Irisa have departed on the 3rd of april and not come back since so everything's all right.
I would love too see more new players, since for every MMO 'the more the marrier' is just as important as quality content. Since I also am a human being able to emphasise with others I totally can understand that being handed a game that has less content then it had before can turn potential players away.
To sum it up ...
Do finished missions effect my game expeirience after I completed them? No.
Does it effect or bother me that new players, that didn't even play the game when said content was available, can complete the same missions I did? No.
Does it effect me when players don't buy and play the game because they didn't start at launch and have to skip content because of it? Yes.
Are there holiday events in other games that are time based? Yes, so are the holidays ... obviously.
Are there other timed events in other games? Yes and they are just as flawed... resources are used up to create content and then it is only made available for some players and unavailable for every single potential customer ... marketing obviously does not hold the power in many gaming companies.

TV episodes are yearly widespread international or even globally shared real life events that are set to specific dates with no deviation?
I guess we'll have to wait a damn long time for the next episode of Defiance then ... but the upside is it will never be laid off.
And to make it even more clearer for you, let's turn this around and say that limited content of any kind is available to anyone picking up the game.
While playing an episode mission that includes NPCs that aren't where you see them according to a TV show is something that isn't important at all if you didn't watch the show yet.
But a christmas event in july might be a bit hard to believe, no matter what TV shows you've seen.
ps: And now I just explained the obvious to one of the few sane persons around these forums ... did you just troll me? : O
