EU cant play on US servers

Sledge is the Community Manager here. It'd be pretty stupid to stop others from different regions playing together.

How are the servers even setup though (especially for console)? My only other experience of an MMO is Star Wars and on there you just chose what server you wanted to make your character(s) on.

I play FF and PS on xbox they both have open servers, this is disappointing. I was going play this game with my brothers and friends in this usa, but I live in EU.

So how do you select servers on the PS3? Does it do it automatically or do you see a list of available servers to select from?

You forgot one thing the PS3 got a NA beta and a EU beta...On Xbox it will be global.

That's all well and good, but how do you select servers? Is it automatic based on ping etc. or is there a list which you choose from before you start playing or do you choose a server and make your character(s) on there ala SWTOR? etc. etc.

I'm assuming it'll automatically connect you to a server in your own region, but there will be a option to select other servers if you want
