As I've said all along, there's nowhere to hide. The enemies swarm into the room right away. And no, I don't focus on the boss at all. I focus on trying to stay alive. Or I was, until I gave up an uninstalled it after 35+ attempts. (I wish that was exaggerating, but it's sadly not. That's how badly I wanted to get this boss, and why I made two threads about it. But as iPatt say, this game is for the hardcore only. Casual players are not welcome.

At first I didn't really know what to do....

What worked for me, is using assault rifle, I don't think it was anything that great, but it might have had lighting or something. I hid behind the crates on the left side, go to the left to kill the ones that spawn there, when a smelter spawned I would cloak, run up behind him and shoot him in the tank, then run back behind my crates and fire at Joe.
Now honestly I might have done this 5 times before I finally killed Joe. His grenades are pretty nasty in that small room once he comes down. I found though if you learn to roll to the left and right you can avoid is grenades and empty a few rounds, roll again empty a few more. It wasn't pretty but it worked pretty good for me and I'm an old fart with bad eye sight. So if I can do it, anyone can.

you need to hide behind the big Kontnr. yes mob come all over but you must hide and let your NPC take the aggro and just shot them and return to that spot to recharge your Shield.
when you get it the phase go fast
it's all about hiding and covering

i am not hardcore gamer and on the start i was failing on this boss look around the forum and found great posts how to kill him and good vid that show how to kill and where to hide

Use a detonator that you have to manually detonate the charge. Drop one in front of the little smelter and set it off when he runs by it. Then when he runs in and explodes drop a couple on Joe. Use the ammo caches on the side to reload and just stay behind those tanks in the back. Rosa will tell you when the smelters pop out. Keep doin this till joe drops down then just stay away from him while you take him out. Took me many times till i had the right combo then it became very easy.Also had saw as my other weapon. Just relax and you will get him np.

Grenades? The enemies don't even look at me when they show up, but spread out all over the room right away. How can I hit them with grenades when they are scattered over the entire room?

You should've noticed right now that grenades have a very limited blast radius and very high burst damage ... all normal 99er Mattocks you encounter while alone die from one single well placed grenade and they can be used at almost any range and with enough practice even lobbed around a corner.

And since you asked for it:
You're lousy at shooters and should go back to pokemon.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, are the real reason why I quit. I love the game, but people like this brainiac have ruined it for me. Yes, this is a shooter, and yes, I suck at it. Why does that mean it's ok to spit in my face and call me a looser?

But anyway, goodnight, the few nice people I've met. Hope to see y'all again in some other game one day. (MirriorStream, that doesn't mean you. I'd tell you where you can go, but then again, I don't think you even understand basic directions, much less words with more than two letters.)

this was easy..heres how i did it

hide behind the big box thing in back left corner with a LMG (big clip) kill all enemies in 1st wave...when the little buggers with flamethrowers come in the 2nd wave..melee then shoot there backpacks (dont kill) they will run under the boss and take his shield down..get ready to throw a grenade then start shooting at his head|* rinse n repeat 2x maybe 3x..when he jumps down its as easy as shooting him and rolling out of the way everytime he shoots those things at you
