Phase 1:
Easy, get a good gun that matches your level. Hide behind the gas looking tank to the left <---- of the map facing Jackleg Jack. Melee the Pyros and shoot their tanks when they fall. When they blow up Jack and drop his shields shoot him, rinse and repeat till phase 2.
Phase 2:
Run around away from him, If you have cloak you're better, and if you have the damage enhancement ego it helps too. Though stay away form him, let him fight the girl and you shoot him from behind.

I beat this in just two tries. It took two because the server went down. Anyway, I just used a flash bang, an lmg, a detonator, and cloak.

I did not realise that this was classed as a hard fight I guess I was lucky in one shotting him by

1. As you look at him go to the far right corned and jump box to hide pretty much behind boss
2. When smelter pops out jump out and grenade him cluster
3. His backpack lights and he runs in taking down shield
4. Jump out and shoot boss then go back into corner
5. Rinse and repeat till he comes down

There will be times you need to replen ammo just use cloak to run up to box fill up then return to corner

There will also be the odd enemy come whilst your in corner so just shoot him up when they come round

Its not difficult once you get into a flow

I'll be honest. I've been having a really hard time with this fight myself. Later today, I'll try some of the tactics mentioned in this thread, but part of my problem has been that the very last fight happens so fast that I have yet to see anything but the boss in his little shield thing and then I'm ambushed by everything on the screen, including random Pokemon characters that I think decided to just jump into the game to gank me as well. I do pretty well everywhere else, but this one fight is so frustrating.

What makes it especially frustrating is that getting to the last fight takes work, and when you die, it pushes you back quite a ways to where you have to go through a lot of work to get back to that last fight again. It's not impossible, but massively annoying.

How do you use the BMG anyway? I don't have a clue what they are used for, or if they are weapons at all. Btw I think I have the Northstar Pistol (the flare gun?), so I guess I could give it a shot. I've already tried 30+ times, so one more won't hurt.

And no, my first char is a sniper with maxed out cloak, but it's *not* easy when you suck as much as me.

Right trigger=hurt, left trigger=heal (must keep it pressed) until it runs out.....

@FlamingNinja and deadextrem: If you don't have any constructive advice, please leave all your noob-hating at the door. See the comment I made with it didn't go so well the last time I tried asking for an easier time? You're a perfect example of what I meant. I've tried this fight more than 30 times with two different characters, and the last one was made specificially for this fight. Bragging about how easy it was for you is just rude and arrogant.

I have maxed out stealth, increased stealth damage, and one of the other additional stealth perks that I would have to check on. I had a weapon that refreshes part of your ability on full recharge. I tried stating what I did with nades and cover and I rarely got shot. Even once Joe got off his pedestal, stealth and rolling cover to cover got my through. I think I had a Respark shield. Idk if I am still noob hating, and if I could help you better, I would. I apologize for your noobiness.

Just a word of encouragement......I too felt that this mission was impossible. But I did finally defeat Teach. And it was so.....so....not sure what word to use to describe it. Satisfying. It can be done. Use cover behind the tanks when shooting the mobs. Never go out in front of those tanks, it triggers the AI to send more miners out to battle. Once you finish that first phase, stay behind those tanks and focus on hitting those smelters with either bio grenades or Fragcharge grenades. Each time they explode under Teach focus all your fire power on Teach's head while his shield is down. After about 4 or 5 smelters exploding and if you have been firing on Teach to weaken him, third phase kicks in and then it's time to move. Fire on Teach when coming out of cover. Aim for his head to do the most damage. If you can stay away from his lob grenades (which can be done with effort) Teach goes down after about 2 to 3 minutes. Hope this helps. And don't give up.

It is possible, it's been done. One persons inability to do something doesn't make it impossible.. same for the Nim fight.

PS; If you believe you cannot do it, you are already defeated.

Oh he took me a while but this is how i got him, i used my Assault rifle and also nade launcher that does clusters.

I would post up behind the right back side tank, then fire off some clusters on the right side and left side and then run around 2 times grab ammo and come right back, then once the little dude popped out the ground hit his fire tank one time and then once he went running to the flames i jumped on top of the right side container and fired off 3-4 cluster nades and popped them off right when his shield went off.

did that about 10 times until his health became halfway then he jumps off the top and comes to tackle you, but by then its just you and him and just run the perimeter around him back and fourth shoot off some nades, circle around let them off then do it all over again then you should be good.. At first it took me about 15 times to understand the timing though.

hey i know how you feel, im having problems with Nim "some are saying Nim is too easy" and he's not ive tried everything, i get to his 3rd form and die everytime. with Jackleg Joe, i hide behind the tanks on the right and waited for the one of the Smelters, let the girl draw the others attention, when you shoot the tanks the catch fire and run underneath jack i used a pistol for their tanks and a guided rocket launcher for jack, after hitting jack id run back behind the tanks again until another Smelter, it took me awhile but i finally beat him, now if i could just be that lucky with Nim
