So it seems like we just took every paper currency, and standardized it?
So now a say...100 US dollar bill, and a 20 Canadian Dollar bill are both 1 Scrip.
is that fairly accurate?
also....do we have any clue what happened to Coin currency?

No, pretty sure it's not.
Since all the established countries became wrecked overnight and global trade got axed the old currencies had no value anymore and a new one was created.
Who likes to carry around tons of change?
I don't. All I do is collect it and buy cigarettes with it when I run out of paper money.
Guess people got more practical when the world came a lot closer to it's end.
well, yeah.
but what I am saying is that they created this new currency and decided to use all old currencies equally for it, rather than physically create a new piece of currency.
meaning a physical 20 dollar bill doesn't have more value than a physical 1 dollar bill. they are all 1 Scrip each.
so say, if you were giving someone 20 scrip, you wouldn't give them a 10 Scrip bill, and 2 5 Scrip bills. You'd give him 20 pieces of paper money, and regardless of what the piece of currency says on it, it's 1 scrip each under the new currency system.
a more extreme example, someone could use Monopoly Money as scrip, and it would have just as much value in Scrip as an actual dollar bill does, for instance.
Not sure if they use old Earth currency, but we do have E-Rep currency. Scrip is said to be accepted anywhere but its weird that the VC would accept E-Rep currency...

so the E-Rep currency is not Scrip, right? it's something else, unique to the E-Rep territory?
and Scrip is the Universal Currency for pretty much the rest of the country, right?
what I am trying to figure out here, is what exactly the Scrip is. what it consists of. what is being used as Scrip.
Is it old paper money from the pre-Votan days? is it new paper money, printed by the E-Rep? when my Arkhunter does a job and gets paid in scrip, what exactly is being given to him, lore-wise?
or what?
Scrip would appear to be the universally accepted currency, probably represented by those E-Rep notes (given they feature not only English/Human print, but also Votan languages)
I got an answer from one of the Defiance Lore Guys to my question on Twitter:
Brian Alexander @hotshtako 9h
Fitting 5000 years of Votan history into 43 minutes is like condensing The Dark Tower for Twitter. Lots more mytho on the way! #defiance
@jmadfour 6h
@hotshtako How about one of the #Defiance Loremasters come to the Forums and explain the nuances of the Currency system in the New Earth?
Brian Alexander @hotshtako 16m
@jmadfour Well... Scrip is backed by the e-rep. Some people don't trust it, so barter in goods and gulanite is still popular #imnoeconomist
@jmadfour 10m
@hotshtako so basically Scrip is a paper currency printed by the E-Rep? #defiance
Brian Alexander @hotshtako 8m
@jmadfour yup
Brian Alexander @hotshtako 10m
@jmadfour Gulanite makes Defiance valuable to E-Rep. Necessary for their economy and construction of the maglev train
more goodies.
John Madison @jmadfour 12m
@hotshtako so the "Ark Salvage" currency that we have in game, is that Gulanite, or is that just a "Goods" barter?
Brian Alexander @hotshtako 3m
@jmadfour More of a "goods" - salvaged Votan tech (votech) you can use to modify guns. gulanite's a fuel source
If you were correct, why would Luke have this hidden? It would be with his pennies as a collectable.
that's scrip. My question is why is the image of europe and Africa part of the globe on the 10 if the earth republic is the North east section of the US and Parts of Ontario?
