Anyone Else Actually Enjoying The Game.

I would just like to hear if anyone other than me is trying to get their mates playing this game.
At this time i am starting to think im the only one actually still having fun on the game, im tired of negative threads as it is only like 4 weeks or less since it was released and i feel Trion are doing the best to fix issues and keep this game going.

Ive been playing the main missions but recently just taken a break and started just doing side missions and challenges or just racing with mates from one arkfall to the next and im finding it fun even just driving around and pulling over to rescue folks or jump in and help another gamer on a mission.

It would be nice if some of the other gamers who are actually enjoying the game would come on here and say so as i think it really needs some more positive reviews.

I've done as far as san fran and am polishing off the last few side quests in the bay area, so far ive really enjoyed I don't know what il do when i finish all the missions probably try some pvp and do loads of arkfalls.
my online mates are either American or without reliable net so i'm out of luck, i do plan on creating a clan at some point probably after i complete the current missions

I think why its got the bad reviews is that it isnt what it looked like from the clips
    A. Its not some gritty fallout 3 survival game its just light hearted fun (reminds me forcibly of crack down)
    B. The epic sense of war and community just isn't there
    C. People judging this as a shooter not as a mmo and not understanding all the technical hurdles that apply to this ambitious project

I am Enjoying it i think its a great game its just i can only play for like 1-2 hours until i become bored of it. NOT BECUASE ITS A BORING GAME becuase i have done almost everything for it lol which is my own fualt cuase i thought there would be things added into the game. Its still a young game and has yet to grow so ill just have to wait for a DLC and this time maybe slow down on the qeusts ECT.

In all honesty I do agree with both sides of the table in regards to the game. However, with this being said those that are constantly bickering over what was to be expected should take into consideration that MMO type games aren't your typical put disc in & hit play game. Yes there's quite a few issues with the game at the moment but it's only just literally been released, there are some things that can't be anticipated within the testing phases due to the difference in possible scenarios. Despite all this I would say Trion are holding it together better than any other game company I've come across in a long time.

For those that are constantly bagging them about the game and how they supposedly aren't 'doing enough' I say to you to look at Codemasters game Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, they released that game, took our money, left us with all the bugs and never updated or fixed it since release; Trion has not done this.

It's such a pity that it seems so many people rely on a 'Official' review on a game before purchasing it, whatever happened to the old days where you looked at a game and just knew you'd enjoy it; why are people needing to be baby fed before making a decision? I believe, from what I've heard, that none of these so called 'Official' reviews have done this game any justice at all and have more or less just branded it rubbish due, to as I said before, issues that were blatantly obvious that they were going to arise to those of us who have a general idea of these type of games.

The main topic of this thread is if anyone is enjoying the game though, without a doubt I'm enjoying this game immensely. Honestly, it's been a long, long time since I have played a game since I was a kid that I have genuinely had fun playing and with Defiance I get to experience that nostalgia all over again. Yeah there's bugs here and there, but what did you honestly expect? Perfection from day one? Come on.. be realistic here.

The whole open world aspect of it definately adds to my enjoyment, finished the main missions, all the side missions, yadda yadda. So now I just spend my time going through each pursuit casually in my own time in no rush whatsoever while keeping an eye out for anyone who needs a helping hand.

Another thing about Defiance is the subtle hints that Trion give in the game in relation to the TV show, maybe it's just me but I enjoy making up theories about what's what and how this & that will turn out and well.. I have to say I get a bit of enjoyment out of that in itself. It'll be interesting to see how the two co-exist with each other.

All of that in a nutshell?

    - Patience is a virtue.
    - Yes, I'm enjoying the game.

    I'm still digging the game.

I'm taking my tme and not rushing around like a mad monkey, though I do admit going on a Arkfall-dashing phase a bit. actually trying to do all the side-missions along with the main story mssions. One of the several issues I have is that the map doesn't show the regions name (or am i missing something?) My fav loadout is
a SAW and a shotgun Mostly I play the PvE; don't really care for PvP... GT is MechHED 04. Game-on!

So I guess you have unlimited disposal income then? Most people don't.

Plonking down $60 on a game only to find out it's crap is really annoying. Taking the like 5 minutes to read what the reviewers are saying about something can usually save you a lot of heartache.

I read the reviews before I bought Defiance. The scores weren't great, but when I got into the nitty gritty of what the reviews actually said, I had a good idea of what the game had going for it and what it didn't, and whether it was the kind of game I'd like.

From what I read, it seemed like it was worth taking a chance on, and I'm glad I did.
