Forgot to mention the 15 ammonition you have at your disposal. Probably because I would've needed to start a new sentence to fit it in.

    Now I did mention it.

A lot of weopons that are more effective than rocket launchers have similar problems with ammo. I wonder if it wouldn't have been better to have unlimited ammo in PvE.
Picking up ammo boxes from dead enemies feels fine, but with quite a few weapons you'll have to visit the static ammo stockpiles almost on every occasion in co-ops. It disturbs your momentum ... the flow of the game. It feels unnecessary.

But but but but, don't you have a second weapon to get you by till then?

they're not the most effective weapon by any means, but I had a lot more fun with launchers after I lvl'd them up a bit. faster reload, bigger radius etc.. all make a nice difference

Part of weapon balancing to me : If i had (infinite ammo) i would use VOT pulsar/ tacc pulsar all day over any other smg/ar/lmg (i don't use SAW, seems cheesy to me but kuddos for those who do).
Ammo related perks are supposed to be here to provide the necessary adjustments.

I never ran out of ammo completly in the heat of the fight... But i've got a in your face play style so i pick up ammo as i mow down ennemies, so yeah it definitely helps.

Sniper rifles could use 10 more ammo cap though

Any useful trick for lvling them (i try hard but it's a b****, bmg is easier for me) ? Must be around lvl 5 right now...

VOT Rebounder & Swarm Cannon are useful if used correctly ... aim right next to your intended target so the initial blast radius only touches the mob and you'll get multiple hits from clusters even on smaller mobs.
A very good way to level detonators (or should I start calling the entire weapon type 'ground pounder'?) and rocket launchers (aka Mass Cannons) is running Liberate the Lost ad infinitum.

You mean the one ammo related perk named scavenger (I believe there's another ammo pool related perk that borders on uselessness so closely that I forgot the name)?
I never said anything about dropping limited magazine size, that would be insane.

And if you think VOT Techmag eats ammo quickly (you basicly get to shoot for 20 seconds in total), have you ever tried VOT Blasters? Insane DPS with miniscule recoil that makes SAWs look bad ... 150 bullets are a nothing though, that's 10 seconds of firing ... it already has a considerably slow reload and limited range for balancing purpose, no need to hurt quality of life here.

    Thanks for the tip!

After leveling ARs and detonators together I came to the conclusion the next weapon pair should be pistols & rocket launchers ... have you ever had to melee a raider tanker because there was no mobs to be grenaded to death for ammo drops? I'm telling you, not the most efficient way of doing things.

Yeah my bad, perks i am refering to actually reloads your weapon, not give you ammo. But scavenger is the (only ?) one yes.

Never ever implied infinite clips. Sorry for the misleading.

In any serious fight, i have have to switch to backup wpn at some point to later switch again to pulsar once i've picke up some ammo a few frags later.

Tried quickly ar/lmg but not my style. I'm all pistols/smg/sawed-off/pump sometimes (human ones)/melee with either blur, overcharge (for purpose of wpn lvling) or decoy (i just keep forgetting using cloak in the heat of things so...).
Thanks for the heads up about the blaster, i'll give it a try

And well just forget my innocent remark on the saw already, i already regret putting that up, it's an invite to mindless stonewalling...

    peace
