It sucks, it really does but in the end, I am willing to accept the fact that this will be a better game because of that.
THAT is why I have been taking my time with the content that IS in the game. Why would I want to rush through what is here and have nothing to do before the next content drop?

Play all the content, ***** about lack of content.
    Rush content, ***** about bugs.
This is how I see everyone acting right now and it blows my mind.
You make it seem like they released a lot of content to begin with... It doesn't take much time to get through it. Heck I didn't even rush through. I actually read each side mission dialog prior to accepting and still finished everything storyline wise in almost no time at all. The problem with the game model they went with was relying on future dlc content and didn't have a solid product in case something went wrong and development focus changed. This was there fault. This game was easy and simple to me. There was no real ramp up in enemy difficulty and I finished all quests at about 700 some EGO. I'm now at 940 and completely bored. I can't login for more than 20 minutes before I get annoyed and have to log.

And it is! If the year is 2014 or 2015. But in 2013, it's a joke compared to most other games out there, when it comes to the amount of content.

Let's not forget the entire world of defiance is around the size of 2-3 zones of Rift. At launch. Of eleven.

I was actually thinking to myself today that the game world feels about the size of a couple rift zones put together.

Ugh... No need for that. IMO also the playable game world is very small. But...

Even putting them in the same category as the people who made/ran WarZ is wrong. That game is a buggy mess filled with hackers. Not played it in a while, but the hackers were so confident at one point that the people distributing the cheats were charging a monthly fee (for hacks to a game that didn't even have a sub). And all that was besides the 'false advertisement' issues of that game. They represented it as a PVE shooter when in reality it was just a free for all PVP kill fest with a few zombies in it.

Defiance has a few issues, but its nowhere near being as bad as WarZ.

Have to disagree. Defiance is not an MMORPG... it's an MMOTPS. An MMORPG focuses on character and social interaction. It's this social aspect that helps players look past what is typically fairly repetitive and mind numbing MMORPG gameplay (grinding, farming, crafting, weak mission and quest structure). In Defiance, you swap a small handful of outfits and spend the whole time online without chatting with anybody. RP is social. Defiance is a shooter. Maybe this LACK of social stimulation is why there are so many harsh comments and negative reviews. Defiance has all the weak gaming elements of an MMORPG without the social stimulation that it needs to help players look past these gaming shortfalls.

I like the game, but I am concerned that there has been no weekly content releases as promised... and the PVP is an extremely poor experience with only 2 small maps and rampant cloaked shotguns.

All that said, I do agree with you that deep stat progression is not a requirement... it's just a really popular component that many games have. I happen to like the fact that I can run my 900 EGO character with somebody else's 100 EGO character.

I'm not sure what I'm doing differently, but I'm at 1002 EGO and I'm barely passed crossing the Golden Gate Bridge in the main story (I only pushed it that far for the Episode pursuits). I still have plenty of side missions to do and I haven't even touched Co-op or PvP.

I'm not going to pretend the game doesn't have issues, but I'm having fun so far and I can be patient while Trion gets stuff worked out.
