    Crossfire Support

I built my gaming rig little over 4 years ago which runs on two HD5870's in crossfire mode. Today I was woundering if defiance supported crossfire mode or not. Cause there is some games that don't place any load at all on the 2nd video card.

Today I setup the LCD screen on my G15 keyboard to show the 'load' and 'temp' of each GPU. Plus had it show the RPM of the fans on the GPU's as well. I was kinda shocked the game does in fact uses both video card.

Sorry for the poor photo. I took it with my cell phone which dont take the best photo's.

One 5870 is most likely enough to max out this game.
I doubt the second card is even engaged. Prolly just idling.

Got the LCD screen on my G15 keyboard setup to show GPU load and temp for each video card. It's showing that the 2nd video card is working and under load. For the 2nd video card to work the game must be in full screen mode.

If I turn OFF the 'full screen' option then only the main video card will work. It still shocked me that crossfire does in fact work on defiance. Cause some games has problems running on a crossfire setup when the game first releases.

I played games where it would only apply load on the 2nd video card every so often. Most the time the 2nd video card would show zero load/utilization.

Does this mean that the game should work correctly under SLI then?

It doesn't. There's not even a profile for it yet.

I suppose you could manually hack one together by linking the game to a different profile and editing that, but at present there isn't anything available, despite requests on both the Nvidia and Defiance forums.

Each video card is showing 10% - 35% utilization depending where I'm at in game.

with cf you'd probably get better fps and less stutter with single card only.

not just defiance but alot of games.

Actually with crossfire enabled it doesnt seem to have drawbacks in defiance.

i would suggest leaving it enabled in case you have an aero desktop or some other thing running in background.
