How many players is the shadow war? Is it the same amount as pc and can someone tell us what shadow war is all about and it's purpose?

It is PvP in the open world. Capture the flag. I don't remember the number.. something like 32 or 50 per side? Since it is open world, arkfalls and such can happen during the match.

What is the purpose of shadow war? After playing shadow war it seem kool but I wish it was more like planetside 2 and we fight for money and to capture a base or territory to have until someone comes and take it. But still what do we get for being in a shadow war?
