Let me pose a question about shotguns...

I would like to know which shotgun in everyone's opinion is the best to use? Which for pvp, and which for pve? I tend to use the VOT fragger I love it! I also have a VOT grind fragger don't know about it though? Anyways your thoughts on the matter!

I think a combat auto-shotgun is the best for PvE in my opinion, try to get the nano-healing on it.

For PvE: VOT Auto-Fragger
For PvP: VBI Shotgun or VOT Fragger
For pissing people off: falloff dmg modded FRC Heavy Sawed-off Scattergun

IMO, take the pump shotty with the highest damage. (can't recall the stats off hand.)
Then take every perk that boosts damage.

Then the game is simple..
a) Get up close.
b) 1-2 shots to the face.
c) repeat as needed.

Only downside to this is that you will max level your guns REALLY quickly, so it is a constant hunt for good shotguns.

For perks, I go Cloak with (dmg when cloaked) + (dmg when behind).. ect.
There was one I noticed that was +25% damage when flinching.

Really, trying to get that 1-2 shots just down to (1) shot = 1 Kill.

heavy scattergun or vot nano fragger. Heavy scattergun does some pretty good damage (162x12) and has a nice 8 round clip. I've killed 3 players before needing to reload but it's a pump action so you can reload as you're finding the next target.

The nano fragger is a sawed off that does 242x12 dmg. which I have 1 shot players with on more than a few occasions. The 30% damage from stealth perk just seals the deal. In PvE you can equip intimidation to give a 1-2 punch that kills even elites. melee then you get +75% damage. Very little can survive that.

combat shotguns don't seem all that great to me. I tried a couple but didn't like them. The best is probably the one with slugs but it suffers from bad hipfire accuracy.

It is mostly personal pref. I like the pump grind fraggers, combat cluster shots, and sawed off couriers. There are others that are good too.

I don't know that there is a shotgun in this game that i DON'T like. The description of the shot pattern made me think twice bout a couple of em but after using them all i find they dish mad damage across the board. Not to mention they are really good at staggering your target.

auto shotties.. anything with nano + full reload on single mag type system.. both the 4 rd burst or semi are wonderfull for pve, because you dont spend 5 minutes reloading individual shells...
