    Look at it this way. Do you enjoy sci-fi and plan to watch the show? If so, and if the show is good, you might get the itch to play around in the world for a bit and you'll be wishing you had access to a game like this. For example, if someone pushed a Game of Thrones MMO in my face right now while I wait for Season 3 to start, I'd be all over trying it because I'm jonesing for more of that world.

    So, if you have the spare cash, pick up Defiance. It's free to play, and even if you only play it a little now, maybe you feel like playing a little more after every episode (assuming you're enjoying the show). It's pretty easy to get the initial $50 back in gameplay value, and then you can visit the world whenever you like (until the day they take the servers offline forever). Hard to go wrong there.

    I'm getting the game for that exact reason. The only question on my mind is whether or not I enjoy the beta enough to justify upgrading to the more expensive deluxe edition. We will see!

    Ah, another fellow game of thrones fans. Yes. 31st is approaching soon. I cannot wait . Same reason I bought the Game of Thrones RPG.

    I guess you do have a good point and I do enjoy sci-fi. I'm leaning towards purchasing this game now. Playing the beta now and am enjoying it although it has a noticeable delay (I live in Asia). However, I would definitely love to play in a group with others. I wonder if there are any groups out there who would take me. :X.

    I would have to watch the show online too unfortunately . Since I live in asia. But so far, the trailers look promising.. although I do hear some bad things about sfyfy cancelling the show whenever it gets good. But as you've said, we'll see

    Judging by the titles you gave, you will probably like it if you don't mine TPS. Because Ive played all of those titles you listed off, and they are a borefest lol

    This is the best MMO currently, not to mention its fun how they tie TV-show to the game and vice versa. Also I know TW is gonna give us ALOT of content like they did in Rift. 1 year from now, you look totally different game.

    Judging by the titles you gave, you will probably like it if you don't mind TPS. Because Ive played all of those titles you listed off, and they are a borefest lol they weren't exciting, and were the definition of a grindy game. They had short-term fun, that wore off within the first few days lol

    I honestly haven't played Defiance, but I have been watching youtube videos and I'm under the impression the dynamic events will be similar to how rifts worked in Trion's game Rift. (which I have also played) and I REALLY enjoyed doing rifts on that game lol it was exciting and fun, especially when all hell broke loose. Because this will have a TPS flare, I think it will highlight on those feelings even more. Honestly, I have high hopes for this game and I will personally be pre-ordering this game in the coming days.

    Not to mention, I've never really been one to read pages upon pages of text for 'lore' but ..because they will have a TV series, I most likely will watch the series to keep myself up to date with whats going on in the game. From what I know, they will be doing cross overs from show to game, and vice versa. So, I seriously don't think it will be a dull moment. Heck, even guilds have a chance to be mentioned in the TV series if they make a huge impression on the game lol it's pretty cool.

    Try beta tomorrow. If you'll still ask this "question" - don't buy the game.

    P.S. I'm playing this game for two months for free. Purchased Deluxe a week ago.

    I've sunk more time into the beta. I've played up till major monroe (did i spell that right? The first boss. The one who uses a grenade launcher). I found the difficulty jump a little too much.. But when you finally beat him solo.. It really felt great. I think the game isn't that bad. I might just drop the bomb on the game now.

    @fiancee

    I really did not know that! That's amazing indeed. I wonder if player actions will change the plot/decisions made by the cast. This really is something new and interesting. Definitely another plus in my book.

    @Psychometrics

    I like TPS, despite my MMO history, I'm an avid single player fan and have completed games such as spec ops, binary domain and hitman. I didn't find guild wars really boring till end game where there isn't much to do but PVP and camp dragons. :\.

    I have yet to experience the dynamic events during my time in the PS3 beta. But those sound and look fun. I have seen videos of it happening and it looked really intense.

    I'm a lore nerd and thoroughly enjoy reading through a game's lore.. But this game does take a really unique spin on the telling of lore seeing that they are producing a TV series and again, I do find this concept of the game altering the show unique and very interesting. I'll be keeping an eye out on that.

    @Pasha

    How do I obtain a PC beta key? or can anyone spare one?

    This video really clinched it for me, and prompted me to pre-order after seeing it. I have yet to play it, but the aspects of Ego, Weapon Customization, and the game play mechanics really reminded me of my time in Fallen Earth. A game that had so much potential, but fell flat on it's face and went to the Perfect World graveyard.

    My only fear is that it will turn into an Aimbot fest like APB.
    Though I have faith that Trion has put safeguards in place to prevent this from happening.

    Ultimately, no one can convince you to buy the game. All I would suggest is do your research before pulling the trigger (pun intended).

    From this 1 hour, I felt the combat was definitely meatym the guns sound great and they hit hard. Customization is reasonable and the world looks interesting. However I do forsee it becoming some sort of a grind.

    I would really like to hear the opinions of people who have spent a reasonable time with it. Is it good? Bad? Average? How will the game be like in the later levels? From what I read and gather, gone are the tanks.. dps.. healers. Any word on end game yet?

    I might drop the cash on the digital deluxe edition on steam.. if that's wise. Hopefully you guys can be frank but yet convince me to purchase this game.

    Some mmos I've played previously : World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Ragnarok Online, Perfect World and Aion.

    Thanks in advance
