None of it changes the fact that the only way a PC tops a console is if you continue to dump money into it. Every year you have to update everything to keep it top of the line, and PCs cost 1000s of $ more then a console does right from the start. So IF you have the money too keep up with that good for you, but your average gamer does not have mommy and daddy's credit card to make sure they always have the best of the best, and in that light, it puts the console at a far superior system. You're entire argument to the contrary just sounds arrogant and makes you look like another stupid elitist with no clue of the real world.

Both consoles an the PC have a reason for being. I think we all agree on the PC being the superior platform due to its versatility, openness and limited ability to upgrade. That versatility comes at a price however. Due to the myriad of things that make PCs differ from another it is up to the users to micromanage their systems. That's something the console players don't have to do. If you're tired from work and just want to play a game without having to be afraid of something acting up, a console is exactly what you want.

For me, tweaking the **** out of things is part of the fun of having a PC, but much to my own surprise I'm thinking about getting one or both of the next gen consoles.

It's also funny to see that the PC sales make the bulk of Defiance sales of all platforms. See http://www.flesheatingzipper.com/gam...gamer-turnout/

I replace my computer every 5-8 years. It cost me less than a PS3 to design and build. Runs every game out today, and I've had it for 3 years now.

There are two main reasons I have a PC:

I hate the idea of having a computer I can -only- play games on. Seems wasteful to me.

I prefer the games that tend to come out on PC to the ones on consoles.

the difference is that consoles are meant for gaming, some computers are as well, but at most only 50% is ever dedicated to gaming. The other thing, xbx 720 would have amazing stats that most computers will not have, but the price will be less than half because xbox makes its money on the games, not consoles.
I know that, also the xbox 720 would be fitted with the top tech or at least the near highest possible specs in order to compete with pc, i know that but all that i am saying is that at the time that the xbox 720 is released for 1 year the pc's will even have progressed further then that since they keep updating (sort of)

You also obviously don't know the difference between current gen and next gen. I said next gen of gaming consoles will be on equal footing with current PC's. As for PC's getting better, sure they do get better, but they also cost 10x's as much money. Next gen console will cost 500 dollars, for the newest graphics card alone you could plunk down 500 dollars. So cost/effect issue console wins hands down.

I already said, I own all the systems and have a pretty decent PC (although I'll need a new updated one in a few years) so the whole argument is just stupid to me. As for PC people being arrogant, yeah they are, on one hand they clamor to PC's being better, while at the same time trying to hammer home the point that PC's aren't that expensive.
oh well it seems i missed the part that you were talking about next gen consoles, my bad, i agree in terms of buying the actual pc or console, console wins on that just because they make their money on games and dlc and such and not the console itself, that way they can meet the highest standards while still keeping a low price since everything comes from games.

yes perhaps games can't go further (yet) and systems don't need to be fully loaded to the max with the newest things but like i said, pc systems only need to update in 3 years or so in that way you will never upgrade your pc every year to the max.
and pc's are expensive, can't say anything about that but like i said that is just because console is able to keep that low price because of games.

on pc you can download F2P games (that is where the majority of the market is going to) with microtransactions and there are allot of F2P games nowadays so only high anticipated games like Bioshock Infinate or Company of Heroes 2 or something in that direction are getting brought also allot of games intend to become lower then 50 euros instead with console they almost always keep a steady price of 50 or 60 euros.

You answered the question in the question. Since you don't know. I shall explain. (apologies if its already done) In PVP people want to win, some so much that they will find ways to make the game work for them and give them an advantage no one else has. One shot kills, knowing where everyone on the screen is etc are an example. In PVE the belief the game is too hard or the need to finish a specific area in a small amount of time will lead to this. The fact that certain things are client side means anyone who is capable of reading machine addresses can.

On that let me say this to those who have freaked about the cheat programs. there is only 3 (from my google search) 2 cost at least $20 and are tied to the forum you bought them from and will only work as long as you pay them and dont get banned from that forum. the third probably exists but its behind a survey. That usually means its not real and the survey is to harvest your info.
good news: BMGs info can't be found. Bad: they are the only one.
So unless you bought this for PVP (honestly wtf? I can point out 5 superior games for that) wait unless Trion sorts it out. The fixes are obvious. Some are stuff they should have done. Others are borne on their belief that flat progression works now (it doesn't. At the end you are supposed to be able to go back and stomp a mudhole into the beginning monsters. This is the way most games do it. ) However, the fire is contained to two objects in a single room. It will be fixed.

SMH LOL. I worked in the computer industry. I repared PCs. I have degrees in electronics. No Sony and Microsoft won't put 'top tech or at least the near highest possible specs in order to compete with pc'. Why? Two reasons.
Sony lost money on PS3. According to them it cost more money to make a custom cpu and get people to code games for it than it did Ps2 or Ps1. All that got them was angst a hacker community furious when they altered the environment to remove linux. They are moving on to a modified form of the Cell processor.
Mark Cerny comments: 8GB of GDDR5 RAM that's fully addressable by both the CPU and GPU. "There's a bus the GPU uses to access VRAM, and there is a second bus that goes over the PCI Express that the GPU uses to access system memory. But whichever bus is used, the internal caches of the GPU become a significant barrier to CPU/GPU communication--any time the GPU wants to read information the CPU wrote, or the GPU wants to write information so that the CPU can see it, time-consuming flushes of the GPU internal caches are required."

PS4 addresses these concerns by adding another bus to the GPU "that allows it to read directly from system memory or write directly to system memory, bypassing its own L1 and L2 caches." The end result is that it removes synchronization issues between the CPU and GPU. "We can pass almost 20 gigabytes a second down that bus," Cerny said, pointing out that it's "larger than the PCIe on most PCs!"
While handwaving yeah, Crossfire can put 16GB of GPU in play and you can get a quad or 8 core Intel or AMD so effectively your system has more raw power. Also Bus time is in milliseconds. Not noticable to average joe.
Second reason is PCs are mature now. Gaming consoles are simply customized Desktops that use a TV/montior as a monitor.
So no top level isn't happening.
Also the games are crap. Honestly. There hasn't been a truly unique game in years. Its all the same rehash including this one here.

You don't need to spend $6500 (or whatever it was that the guy said) to have a decent gaming PC, but yes they are still more than a console, however a direct price comparision is not really valid much of the time, for a couple of reasons.

1 - If I want a truly versatile gaming system, then PC is the only choice, and I'm not simply talking about better hardware/graphics, if I want the nearest to the full choice of games (MMORPGs for instance) then a console just does not cut it, if I want to play lots of the competitve games (LoL, SC2, etc) then the PC is the best choice, if I want to play modded games (Skyrim, Minecraft, etc) then the PC is the choice, so I may pay more, but I also get more.

2 - Many people use their PC for far more than games (and far more than the bit of internet/DVDs people use a console for), for instance I use it for work, to do my accounts, editing photos, etc. So many people would need a PC anyway, now they may spend a bit more than they would otherwise on a PC if they intend to play games on it, but comparing the full price is pretty meaningless in many cases, even if I did all my gaming on a console, I would still need a PC.

Oh yes I nearly forgot, not having to pay for crap like xBox live.

Gaming PCs can be as cheap as $600 nowadays and if you get one now you can run all the newest games on it for over 5 years(or if talking about console ports, 10 years). If something doesn't work then just drop AA or lower the settings, it will still look a lot better than on a console.

Plus you learn to multitask. Game, surf the web, watch movies. Been doing it for 18 years now. Especially with 3 monitors.

OH and to answer your question, 95% OF ALL ACCUSATIONS of hacking are simply some poor shmuck that got killed because he got outplayed.

Basically, if you die, someone cheated. You'll notice people only type words, they never, ever offer proof. Because there is none most of the time.

Not since the days of Quake my friend. Gaming on a PC is like going to Prison. It'll make a man out of you, you'll become a better gamer or you'll get ****ed *****.. Everyone else plays on a console.
12 years ago a game company did a survey asking why people won in PvP and why they lost. Over 90% responded they won due to skill. 99% said they lost due to lag or hacks! (OK, OK, 87% of statistics on the internet are made up on the fly).
