SMH LOL. I worked in the computer industry. I repared PCs. I have degrees in electronics. No Sony and Microsoft won't put 'top tech or at least the near highest possible specs in order to compete with pc'. Why? Two reasons.
Sony lost money on PS3. According to them it cost more money to make a custom cpu and get people to code games for it than it did Ps2 or Ps1. All that got them was angst a hacker community furious when they altered the environment to remove linux. They are moving on to a modified form of the Cell processor.
Mark Cerny comments: 8GB of GDDR5 RAM that's fully addressable by both the CPU and GPU. "There's a bus the GPU uses to access VRAM, and there is a second bus that goes over the PCI Express that the GPU uses to access system memory. But whichever bus is used, the internal caches of the GPU become a significant barrier to CPU/GPU communication--any time the GPU wants to read information the CPU wrote, or the GPU wants to write information so that the CPU can see it, time-consuming flushes of the GPU internal caches are required."

PS4 addresses these concerns by adding another bus to the GPU "that allows it to read directly from system memory or write directly to system memory, bypassing its own L1 and L2 caches." The end result is that it removes synchronization issues between the CPU and GPU. "We can pass almost 20 gigabytes a second down that bus," Cerny said, pointing out that it's "larger than the PCIe on most PCs!"
While handwaving yeah, Crossfire can put 16GB of GPU in play and you can get a quad or 8 core Intel or AMD so effectively your system has more raw power. Also Bus time is in milliseconds. Not noticable to average joe.
Second reason is PCs are mature now. Gaming consoles are simply customized Desktops that use a TV/montior as a monitor.
So no top level isn't happening.
Also the games are crap. Honestly. There hasn't been a truly unique game in years. Its all the same rehash including this one here.

no. I have never understood the need or desire to "hack" a game and when I play online with people who do I try to get as far away as possible to enjoy the game. Hence playing on a console. I realize consoles are effected but nowhere near the magnitude as the PC.

You do realize that people can hack Xbox or PS3 games too, right?

I agree what a previous poster said about 95% of hacking accusations are someone being outplayed. EGO level 3000, can't say that I've experienced a hacker. I've done all possible PVP pursuits as well.

PC Graphics mainly. They'll always remain supreme to a console. At least that's why I use a PC. It's a Big Boy machine. I'm an adult and I do adult things. I'm obsessed with the fast, most expensive parts. It's a hobby to build your own computer. Mine is $6500 of pure adrenaline and there is NOTHING I won't be able to run. Ever.

Plus you learn to multitask. Game, surf the web, watch movies. Been doing it for 18 years now. Especially with 3 monitors.

OH and to answer your question, 95% OF ALL ACCUSATIONS of hacking are simply some poor shmuck that got killed because he got outplayed.

Basically, if you die, someone cheated. You'll notice people only type words, they never, ever offer proof. Because there is none most of the time.

Not since the days of Quake my friend. Gaming on a PC is like going to Prison. It'll make a man out of you, you'll become a better gamer or you'll get ****ed *****.. Everyone else plays on a console.

Better graphics is the only thing you can take from this whole response.

That's because you do not see it. Most of the hacks are obvious. However, most of the ones I notice are aim-bots, not damage hacks.

Big difference... You have the hacker doing it on Console. For PC anyone even the guy who doesn't know what hacker means can download a hack pack that hackers make and just run into defiance god mode.
You can go your whole gaming life and not see a hacker on console. For PC everyone and their grandma can act like a hacker.

The same can be done for Xbox and PS3. All you need to know how to do is bridge the PC to the Xbox or PS3.
