Nevermind found a very easy way. Type /quit in the chat.

Type the above two in the chat box and they will work.
Or logout via the settings menu
Are all safe ways of quitting.
You know, if you look at remapping the controls it's actually a bug that Escape leads to loadouts instead of the EGO menu (which has a leave game button).
That said, if you honestly can't find your way out just cause they hid the button 3 clicks away instead of 2 it might be time to put the game down and do some brain training.
