Sadly, you cant stop using expensive mods waiting for that "good weapon" because there will always be a next good weapon.

You will be forever waiting for that Wunderwaffe.

^^ That. I keep a purple AR and a Purple Grind Fragger, completely maxed out in a loadout slot with my perfered perks. Both have really good bonuses for maxing out and fully modded. If I need damage, in a tough situation, or want Arkfall rewards (but no weapon xp), I switch to it.

I don't mod out my grinding weapons, I buy green versions of said weapons off the Vendors normal stock (just have to search around for the gun, and hope it has a nano). When they are maxed, they become salvage, and I always have my Purps when I'm in trouble though.

The 'good' weapons to look for are the ones that have the perks you like. With that being said the annoying part is that I keep doing the Side Quests and getting better Mods. Well, since inventory space is so limited I sell them. The developers should fix it so that once you do a Side Quest and "unlock" a better Mod, you can buy the better Mods at a vendor.

Maybe not that... How about vendors that sell the advanced LvL mods for ridiculous amounts of Scrip?
    UO to EQ > FFXI > WoW > EVE > DDO > FFXIV > SWToR > Tera > PS2 > Defiance... What a strange a long trip it's been~

Selling the game, DLC, and expansions won't be enough to support the game. They want (and need) you to buy from the Defiance Store. Ergo the limited space. They need to put better, value packed stuff in the store though. Which I bet they will soon.

    It's still a terrible system.

    That's an opinion.

Besides, weapon leveling becomes moot once you max out the skill.

That it's an opinon goes without saying...come'on

I know that a weapon's xp maxes out eventually which is why I don't like the system but are you saying that a weapon class skill such as "Assault Rifles" maxes out as well?
