Ok obviously English isn't your first language so I will cut you some slack. Just because you see men in black on every street corner doesn't mean others do. So just because a game series gets high marks doesn't mean they are paying for those reviews. Sheesh. Gotta love the conspiracy crowd.

When you use this type of approach to make you point all you do is cause people to consider you a kook and instantly dismiss your opinions as lunacy.

besides (and this is MY opinion only) the score of 6.5 is perfectly appropriate for the game's current state.
How does your personal rating scale work? I personally rate 1-10 1 being broken unplayable, 10 being perfect, and with 5 being average. Based on my own rating scale I think that 6.5 is fair, a slightly above average game with issues that need corrected.

Gamespot's not saying anything out of the ordinary. The game's pulling a 64 (on PC) with 28 reviewers reporting. A laughable 56 on 360.

It's not just Gamespot. Consensus is the game's not something that lives up to the name Trion made with Rift.

While it may be easy to discredit an individual review, just as it's easy to discredit "some guy's" opinion of the game, it's not so easy to discredit the trend of 28 people in very visible positions agreeing the game's not all it was cracked up to be.

I believe the scale in the general industry is that you get a 3 for just releasing something, 4 if it doesn't crash and format your system, 5-9 depending on if the game is actually fun, and 10 if the "boss" is looking over the reviewer's shoulder as they're typing.

1- I did not know there were two gamespots. Its the same language!
2- USA gamespot rates it a 6.0. Be grateful for the +0.5 the UK gives it.
3- I remember liking games that were generally thought to suck as a kid. Shingen the Ruler, a gang game with horrid graphics, later on Populous, and a few others. It is possible to like games that most think suck.

My rating so far is a 7

The interface needs to be better
We need better instructions. Im always trawling the boards for help.

PC Gamer also gave it a 6.5 and was a pretty accurate description on how I felt playing the game. Unpolished, no immersion, but clean controls, and fun in the short run.

I totally disagree with gamespot's review. It should have been lower. In my opinion it doesn't even warrant the validation of a review.

6.5 fits about right with the way the game is right now 5 months down the line i can see Defiance being a solid 7.5/8.0 maybe even higher depending on how varied and compelling the DLC's will be.
