I was really stoked about getting this patch when they first announced it for all platforms and then I saw the bug list. a bit scary... Hoping the next major patch makes adjustments to weapon skill gaining options and also hoping that it reverses that contract leech change. I see the patch notes for 1.010 and 1.012 anyone know where the notes are for 1.011?
That's classified.
Famous last words.
So after that long delay, we're getting the same buggy piece of crap that you know caused so many problems with the other platforms?
And you'll still have the reload bug.
Famous last words.
I find it funny how the initial complaint was that "they don't care about us" and now that all the details of submission to PSN have been worked out and the game is getting up to speed to where the other platforms are, the whining is about how we're not getting anything more than anyone else. There is no satisfying those who feel entitled, I guess.
I, for one, am happy to see the PS3 platform issues with file conversion and the submission process get worked out. It does mean things should go a lot smoother going forward and more in-line with the other platforms. Admittedly, Defiance is not without its critical issues but I believe that since the game is not quite yet one month live and Trion Worlds is wanting to keep it around for a while (there are 5 DLC still to come, after all), the fixes should keep coming and more content will be added.
I do feel bad that some players have already left the game but that's their loss (and their $60) because it's a choice that the players make; not the developers or publisher. Unfortunately, in many cases, you only get one chance to leave a good impression so, like any game at launch, there will be an exodus of players who either didn't get what the developers was trying to do, didn't have the patience to see out the rough spell, or wanted something more than the game could offer. Sometimes those players come back but oftentimes they do not however, with the community we have and the fact that more people will discover the game either through friends or the television tie-in, things should work out.
On the bright side, it's not like they are charging a subscription fee on top of the $50-60 that was spent on a copy of the disc. I was more miffed when I paid $60 for a copy of DCUO, only to have it turn into an overly expensive drink coaster a year+ later... while paying $10 a month for a Legendary subscription the whole time.
Long story short... it could always be worse.
Just Server Side patch with 2 hours downtime or coinciding with PS3 game patch release around the same time?
