    What's the most effective SMG?

I'd like to try these out, and I need to know which one people have the best luck with.

The only thing I've heard beforehand is that VOT SMGs drain ammo like a motherf*cker.

I like the ones that say "improved performance in aim mode" or whatever. Any SMG with full-auto is going to just spray the Bay Area with bullets unless your right up against a giant boss.

if you're using SMGs it's given that you're going to be fairly close to the enemies- spraying and praying shouldnt be that big a deal in that case. im currently powerlevelling SMGs using tachmag pulsars (superfast refire, and fairly accurate even when hipfiring- dont put a scope on it unless there is one that increases hipfire, it's really not worth it), since they're really nice tbh.

Tachmag for run and gun. VBI for precision

VOT Blasters are my favorite of them. Damage is respectable, reload is extremely fast, and the clip size is large. Very, very good medium-short range weapons. You really need one with an elemental effect to get the most out of them (any will do, I have no preference). It's my main go-to weapon and I rarely switch off it except in circumstances where a shotgun's ammo preservation helps or the range is too long, where I use a sniper.

Mods might not seem like they do much, but I use a damage multipler mod, bloom reduction, and clip size and they definitely help.

Tachmags do less damage and fire faster; I don't care for them since the fire rate on the blasters is already as high as it really needs to be. The ones with bonuses while aiming I don't care for, either, since I almost never aim with an SMG; if you're going to stop moving to shoot you're better off with an AR or LMG; Some variants of the mazu blast rifle AR's are very similar to an SMG but have a good aim profile if you like that sort of weapon, but want something in the middle ground between SMG and AR.

My VOT SMGs have neither bloom nor recoil and can be fired on the move with no downside.

Answer to the OP, VOT Tachmag and regular with siphon. Not any other effect, since siphon is the only one that's not a non stacking debuff. If you're just looking for a weapon to level your skill I'd say the effect is secondary as you'd throw it away sooner then later.

VOT Blaster is a pistol not a SMG. Has insane DPS tho and I think you mistake 'Blaster' for 'Pulser'.
