Yeah, my thought process time is leaning towards Wildstar now, its just a shame its massively under NDA for now but absorbing information where I can

Their executive producer (Jeremy Gaffney) had a great quote that directly applies to this game too:
'No better way to set fire to a pile of dev money than making an mmo and not having something interesting at the end game for people to do'.

I'm worried. I was one of the people defending Trion and saying "A bunch of content is planned for the 15th, just wait! It'll be great!" and we got lanterns...

If this next content patch isn't absolutely terrific, then I don't think this game is going to make it.

Looking forward to that myself. Funny how gathering information about Wildstar led me to learning about Defiance actually.
My channels of choice for information do exclude a TV, so I had no idea about neither the show nor this game till mid march.

I sure hope we'll get our emergencies back within the nest 72 hours.
Chat would be awesome as well ... personally next opportunity to patch will mark one month into the game and might be a breaking point for many. I don't want to feel the preassure that Trion has to endure right now.

And they deploy the PS3 patch ... that sounds like something where nothing can go wrong ... : o

I really hope they eventually fix the issues. Especially co-op map issues. I'll probably check in for the DLC releases because I was foolish enough to buy the UP. The game is mildly enjoyable, but only that. It faces some stiff and serious competition this year for MMO. three of which are Neverwinter, Marvel Heroes, and Elder Scrolls. (although the last one is a ways off still) All of those are PC only, so the console side may not take that big a hit, but I can see the PC side dying off.
I agree totalt with elder scrolls and neverwinter being competiton but i wouldnt realy put marvel in that its less and mmo than this one no character creation or anything just pick a premade and roll with it.
Life is a big enough gamble without gambling with your life.

Elderscrolls and Neverwinter are only competition for those that will go back to a fantasy styled MMO... I don't care if they gave me a copy I'm so tired of sword n board games.

I wasn't impressed with Neverwinter when I was part of the testing process. It was fun for a while, if only for the nostalgia of the old AD&D tabletop days, but it's not something I'd pay for.

ESO remains to be seen. What I see of it so far looks interesting, but it's still early days yet.

I keep checking the forums daily in hope of some news regarding new content but slowly losing hope. I really enjoy the game and the EU servers always seem busy so I'm hopeful for the future and as a console gamer we don't have many games like it but at this point in time the best thing to come out of Defiance may be that in the future another mmo developer may think we can make this work on a console.

To be honest....you can tell how well this game is doing by your vent populaiton. Pre-launch, our clan was 100+ strong with a 40 man dedicated vent. If you can catch more than 4 people on vent now you are lying. Only the hardest of the hardcore are still on grinding that ****ing awful lvl 10 BMG and the 3 minute time kill on the Matron.

Other than that there is nothing to really do. I actually re-subbed to wow...sure graphics made my eyes bleed when i first logged in, but it felt alive.

I CANNOT WAIT until games like the aforementioned Wild Star launch to light a fire under these Defiance devs. When blizzard announces "Titan" at blizzcon it will be lights out on half assed efforts like Defiance. Snail games will also be at E3 debuting their steampunk game. From what I have heard about their other game age of wushu, I would give these guys a shot.

Sledgehammer just pisses on the community, only putting out posts when our plight makes its way over to Reddit. Quite honestly I have never witnesses such poor community management.

As a manager myself, I can tell you on truth: You don't have to fix peoples problems now, or a week from now. You just have to communicate with them now, and make them believe you give a **** and that you are working on it. When you hide from an angry customer, that is the worst **** ever.
