Baddies can't kill a solo boss. Why is everyone making such a big deal of solo instanced content ?
This is not a MMORPG, the main story is made so you can solo trough it completelly.

The final boss would be trivial if you could get in with 5 people.

So the game that is touted as coop is not really? Also give me a break real devs know how to make an encounter scale based on how many are in the encounter, Borderlands comes to mind.

I beat the boss solo, it's not about difficulty, it's about coop games encouraging solo play, and it shows, no real chat, and no real communication, not once has anyone not on my friends list ever said anything anywhere near me. The silence in chat is deafening.

Lastly only Internet raised mouth breathers use the term baddies.

It's trivial with 1 person and 1 infector.

I'm all for a solo "gateway boss" that can act as a limiter for players in a skill-based game. He's not nearly as hard as he seems at first, and if you keep trying you'll eventually figure him out.

Your second time fighting (after your second mission playthrough) he's a freaking joke.

That said, there's a serious lack of co-op content that's worth a damn. I want to be yelling at a friend to "shoot the sniper, I'm pinned" but I never ever need to do that. Let alone talk to my co-op members.

What's funny is how they reuse coops for single player missions.
The game is antisocial as hell.

When looking for a group, there's no social aspect to it at all, you just get dumped into a coop with random people, no world chat, no permanent chat. Needs a lot of work.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Show me anywhere I ever said the encounter was difficult? I play online co-op games for the co-op aspect, I have probably 200 gigs of single player games on my PC for when I want to be anti-social.

I had no problems killing the story boss, or any other boss for that matter. I just grab a wide spread shotty and dodge. Works every time.

I agree the co-op content in the game is a joke, but I don't think the storyline is the best place to add it. I actually enjoy that part being the "solo" part of the game.

They've completely failed to add an "island" of content out there for content that requires communication, though. That's something that does piss me off.

I'd rather have the last boss of the story be solo than require a raid. So I can solo my way to level 60, but if I want to complete the story I have to farm fire resist for X amount of time, suck up to raid leaders to get enough gear so I can do the last boss? No thanks. Much prefer how this game does it.

And having a 1 on 1 confrontation makes it feel more personal and epic. I was honestly very surprised that it wouldn't let me do the last boss with my buddy, but getting to fight him alone was worth it.

I don't mind that the main story line had single player instances in it, I think the real problem is that Trion didn't add any 10 player instances that you can do with your clan. Its a mmo thats a TPS, they had the potential to have some epic war zone instances catering to clans.
