Completely bored and only after having the game for a few weeks.

Before I start, let me say that I absolutely love this game and the concept behind its creation. I will not be acknowledging the bugs and will be focusing more on its overall content.

I loved this game but after a rather brief storyline I find myself "wanting". Sadly the side missions and interactions in the emergencies do not draw me in. Collecting outfits and the PvP aspect occupied my attention for a while and then not so much. I mean, whats the point when the majority of everyone just looks like the default human survivalist.

As much as I love the weapon modification system, visually its not as amazing as I had thought it would be. Weapons and their mods only come in a few visual flavors and the rest are recolored versions of the same...

I find myself wanting to log into Defiance and immerse myself in its lore and universe. Unfortunately after logging in Im standing around wondering what I should do, and eventually contemplate creating a new character just so I have some additional content available (completed side missions and a challenge, etc) but the thought of doing that all over again and collecting pursuits feel tedious. In the end I just log out of the game and go on netflix simply because the entertainment value in Defiance does not exist for me...

Please Note: This is my personal opinion and everyone is entitled to their own as I do not speak for anyone but myself.

I do hope that company will do something to address this, wether it is adding some new DLC or adding more missions and interactions that cross with elements of the show itself, but at this point I am just simply bored with the game and the lack of initial content given. I love the idea of new DLC but at the same time, I find myself wondering if it will be worth whatever cost it is for x amount of new material... My biggest fear is that in the end the DLC will just be recycled elements that already exist. Honestly I hope that isn't the case as I am fond of the show and I am fond of the "game concept". I just wish there was more...

Is there anyone else that is affected by this boredom bug as I am?

It's ok to be bored and not feel like logging on. I don't know how you got the idea that this was a place where you had to live and breathe every time you fired up your PC/Console.

You played through the content that interested you. Now play something else or spend your time doing other things until the game opens up more. It's ok. You bought the game it will be there when you get back. There's no subscription and it doesn't doom the end for you because you can't find motivation to play. It will come back when there's a lot more content

Being a TPS MMO this game sure gives people confusing feelings about it. It's not suppose to be your home away from home like a true MMORPG. Great if it is but don't feel so bummed out if it isn't

Hey man, this isn't an mmoRPG, it's an mmoTPS!

It's not supposed to have "content."

Oh believe me lol, Im not one who wakes up at the crack of dawn and plays nonstop into the wee hours of the night. I work, and make dinner for the wife, and watch the tube with her. But when I get the itch to play Its nice to be able to sit down and enjoy a couple hours of entertainment.

I guess the problem is that I got my hope up regarding this game as an MMOTPS. Anything with the term MMO, my mental thought is huge content and socializing with the community. This is feeling more like a fallout franchise... Yes there are other people playing in this world and the sporadic teamwork found in Arcfalls and occasional missions are entertaining, but ultimately it feels like a solo play game that I've beaten (up to this point) and now Im going to put aside for a good long while.

I guess it is a combination of boredom and disappointment, both of what the game is and what I thought the game would be.

Name me a TPS MMO that has the same amount of content as a MMORPG like Rift, WoW, SWTOR? having said that

The game certainly lacks content right now, and I'm not one to buy the whole "well it will open up with more episodes". If all we get are a few pursuits pr episode then screw that.

There's really no good PvE based FPS/TPS MMOs out there. This is the best there is and that's pretty sad. Firefalls PvE is even more lackluster than this but on the plus side has better PvP IMO.

The only thing I can tell you is wait for the DLCs and see what they bring. If it's just more character/race options, a few vehicles and more pursuits then just count your blessings 60 bucks brought you weeks of entertainment instead of a few days

I like this response. Its ok to walk away from a game till a later date. I did it on FFXI, left for 4 years to explore WoW, Came back to FFXI and it was like a whole new game.

DLC and content will come out for Defiance. Just stay connected so you dont miss any specials. Considering that episode missions are temporary, i would be sure to hop on and do those when they come up.

Well this game on release had more content diversity than Wow did on its release.

Wow had more maps and more dungeons sure but they were the same thing over and over with no dynamic and no pvp.

So Defiance, which has everything Wow had just on a smaller scale also included dynamic events and pvp.

So your complaining because you got a few weeks of game play for your money? When other campaign games get boring and old after competing it after 1 weekend.

You have got a good game time out of it, if your bored wait till the new content, or find people to play the game with, its a hell of alot more fun with a party of people iv found.

In his defense things are not as black and white as the world you live in. When you buy a product you also make the choice based on what you expect to get out of it. If you buy a MMO you expect to get what you are used to from MMOs. Not some arbitrary goalpost set by shortlived singleplayer games
