I think many people feel like I do, more than the negative comments I received would suggest.

I love this game, I love the Idea behind it, But it's missing key parts of an MMO.

I actually spent more time trying to group up with friends thanks to the broken (now fixed) party system. For what? It didn't matter if they were in my group or not, a quest can be completed by everyone in the area at the same time, other than picking up object and sharing exp there was never a reason. The fights didn't feel easier, the bosses never were easier...

This game is an MMOTPS, not an MMORPG, and yet it if you removed the MMO and replaced it with 4 player coop, and added in moronic soldiers like there are in halo or gears, it would be the EXACT same game.

There is no reason outside of boredom to ever group up with anyone, I've two manned all the 4 man coop dungeons, so you don't even need a group there. You could probably solo them if you had enough patience.

Again, I loved my week with this game. I am however not an achievement chaser, doing mindless killing for little to no reward other than a cosmetic skin and bragging rights just isn't enough to get me to kill 5000 enemies with a sniper rifle etc.

Now I know there is a certain degree of repetition in any MMO. "Go here fetch this kill X amount of guys" seems to be the norm in all MMOs and indeed, any game with side quests. I enjoy those for various reasons, and sometimes I don't.

Most games offer new and interesting locations to find and explore, and even though it doesn't matter in the end there's still that sense of awe as you walk into Stormwind for the first time.

How many of you remember seeing the snow in Donky Kong Country for the first time on the SNES? It's not gamebreaking, but it provides that sense of something new and exciting may be around the next bend.

This game needs more variety in many ways, not just the quest area, I can't really recall any cool and unique area other than seeing the bridge for the first time that sticks in my head quite the way Ungoro did in WoW. How about finding the Volcanoe in Morrowind? This game lacks the subtle things, and it adds up in a big way.

    Just my opinions.

If weapons weren't such a pain in the rear to level I'd probably play it more, but I'm kind of just bored too.

I occasionally log on to do contracts, I definitely do the weekly episode pursuits, but that's about it.

I don't know what launch version of WoW you played but WoW most certainly had PvP in it at launch.

It was called World PvP and it crashed servers for hours due to South Shore vs Tarren Mill.

We were already supposed to be playing in the first DLC by now. We're stuck waiting for new stuff.
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

I agree with some of the comments here. At first I thought the game was great, but then I started to feel like I paid $60 for a beta when I noticed all the issues - and from reading the forums I found out there's significant issues today that still existed back in the beta phase.

It's an MMO, but it's not very social. Everyone looking the same (the default human male player model loading up on screen instead of their actual character). I can't see names of players not in my group. Text chat, one of the things broken in the beta, is still broken today. I prefer to use voice chat just for my XBL party, but should be able to use text chat to communicate with randoms - like in town, for example, to ask if anyone wants some purple weapon that I plan on vendoring. Groups being limited to 4 was a bit of a shock - "Defiance is a Massive Multiplayer Online Third Person Shooter. Have fun forming a small 4 man group!".

Weapons look generic. Even a fully synergy modded legendary weapon will look the same as it's white counterpart?

I'm hanging in there for now, but hoping for significant changes in the near future.

Oh yeah, 5 minutes Tarrens Mill Open world PvP with 200 people and then server crash... haha good times! xD
When I was little, we found a man. He looked like, butchered. The old woman in the village crossed themselves... and whispered crazy things, strange things. "El Diablo cazador de hombres." Only in the hottest years this happens. And this year, it grows hot. We begin finding our men. We found them sometimes without their skins... and sometimes much, much worse. "El cazador trofeo de los hombres" means the demon who makes trophies of men.

Went back to D3...GW2....and now after 2 years...seriously considering resubbing WoW. I need a MMO fix and defiance is certainly not it.

I lead raids for 3 or so months on a PvE server after launch fighting off Alliance who had 5:1 pop advantage. Good times, really good times.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I must be playing a different game. What diversity does Defiance have? No matter the event, instance, or mission, you know what we do? We run around and shoot crap. That is it.

Where did you buy your copy? I think I might have gotten a seriously bugged download. I'm missing all that diversity. Perhaps I should submit a ticket . . . .
