    Best idea for Arkfalls

    A lot of people (myself included) are really wanting better Arkfalls. The first one we see on the Defiance Pilot TV Show was very big, very large, very detailed, very epic . . . you know, compared to what we have in the game. Granted on the TV show we did not get to see much due to the Irats coming in and pretty much kicking out Nolan and Irisa.

    But dang! That Arkfall look sick as jek, friends. No shtako about that at all.

    So big question is how can, Defiance the game, bring that feeling of a big Arkfall (preferably one that does not have Hellbugs . . . yes I'm sooooooo sick of Hellbugs). There is no doubt players would love that big of an Arkfall to kill stuff in.

    But let us pause on the idea for epic Arkfalls. Another thing that I enjoy one heck of a lot is Shadow Wars. Sadly not a lot of people play them due to time to start one up. This sucks because they are such a blast with all the mayhem that goes on in them. If games were queued up faster more people would play them I bet.

    Ok, so here we are. Arkfalls and Shadow Wars.

    Well what happened on the first Arkfall in the TV show? Whole lot of people. Whole lot of shooting.

    Think on that for a moment. Random epic Arkfalls that drop with lot of loot and Arktech at stake for Ark Hunters. Does that fit the game? Does that sound like something you would love to play?

    Of course!!! Why not make those random big Arkfalls a big multiplayer map that has external and internal areas of engagement for PvP and PvE with Arktech as the winning items like good loot! But the only way you can play them is to be in a Shadow War. The catch is they have to be random and the winner takes all, which hopefully would force people to work as a team or leaving them walk away with shtako.

    Just an idea.

    Who likes it? How thinks its rubbish?

    Reward players for damage to crystals and major enemies, deduct points for vehicle kills. And maybe some kind of huge arkfall that spans the map forcing all players to get involved

    Did you even read my post?

    Your response seemed to ignore it completely and your post pretty much is to troll and complain how Arkfalls are now.

    I think it that sounds pretty cool. I especially dig the interior and external zones being added in that brings more of a coop instance feel on a massive level. I am not completely sold on them only being viable if in a shadow war. If they dropped in both forms I could dig it. I play on ps3 and shadow wars can take a bit of time (especially San Fran, other areas can have quicker matches). I don't know what to tell you on increasing the draw of shadow wars maybe the loot is better if in a shadow war (I.e. gear specifically designed to be sweet in pvp, or just better variants). I guess my complaint or criticism is the feeling that I'm missing out on this awesome thing occurring unless I'm strictly doing a sw. So props very cool idea.

    Good call on the idea being loot that is geared toward PvP. But I would favor it not being 100% geared to PvP cause then only PvP players would play it and lose out on some of other stuff.

    So maybe make it Co-Op geared too. Like good BMG for the people that like to play as healers or maybe shields that add benefit to player or the entire group in Co-Op maybe?

    For the arkfall seen in the show, if such a thing was to be put in towards the game, why not build it in tiers? Instead of destroying 4-5 crystals to get to the main boss, why not have the entire thing start at the fall itself, working to get the doors open, or create an opening. Then once thus established, the players move inside, having to accomplish numerous little bits, like reboot power, then access main bridge, etc. Once thus done, the players have to defend the arkfall from attacking enemies, like an elite hulker or king hulker, a matron, other various things for the different races you are already fighting at the arkfall. Once the enemies are removed, instead of a big explosion, the players file back inside to access the "treasure room", being rewarded for their contribution. So if someone was there from the beginning, and did practically everything, they get the best loot, where as the guy who just barely showed up, fired a shot at the boss, then hid for the rest of it, gets little to nothing. Also, for major arkfalls, i would love to see raiders, mutants, 99'ers, also dark matter, major ones. It would break up the monotony of fighting either a progenitor for the scrappers, or the matriarch, hellion, or mature hellion for the hellbugs. Fighting a motherlode at a 99'er arkfall would be quite interesting. The game is still early in, and already doing great. Hopefully once they get in what they originally intended to, they can look at our suggestions and begin to implement them.

    Yeah! Great ideas Lemieux and faas. I agree I don't want them 100% pvp centric either just a thought at trying to let everyone be able to play these events but still enticing more people to shadow wars, which have really been a blast for me. These types of ark falls would enhance the immersion feeling as well as offering a different variety of encounter than what we are seeing currently. Hopefully they sledge and the team at Trion Worlds are considering something along these lines

    I totally agree on this one. The arkfalls right now are WAAAAY too repetitive. I mean when i first started playing this game and experienced my first arkfall, I was like HOLY @!^$&!@%@!#@&^*^%&#^*$. I see all these people in their vehicles running to the next Ark and then the finale, the big *** bug. That was epic but then day 2 passed, 3, 4 and so on. Now when I see a major hellbug arkfall my first reaction would be, "not again". Im not gonna lie I still participate on Major Arkfalls, but the only reason would be is for the pursuit alone. I already last hit the Hellion, 1 more left. After that im just gonna queue on TDM or SW. There's no point in participating on arkfalls now since the loots are crap, xp is meh, keycodes i can easily get in PvP waterfront matches since its really quick. Arkfalls are really not worth it and not enticing anymore. We need something fresh and the ideas that the OP and other ppl who commented are really nice.

    Make Arkfalls more engaging, I think the mobs need to be more challenging. Since ppl just spam nade launchers/RPGs and they go down so easy its not even funny. They need to add mobs that have AOE attacks and can actually push players to the corner. When I mean "push players to the corner" is that make them run for their damn lives. I see players die but not that much, the revive skills on our tree is not even useful on anything but PvE. Even still its not worth to spend EGO pts in since you rarely revive someone(if playing solo) and you mutilate enemies when in a group. In short, I wanna see players DIE! in arkfalls. Yes, I am evil. >:]] but this will make players actually band together and help each other to finish the Arkfall. Well, thats all i can say for now. I really like the idea, props to OP.

    I love this idea. I originally thought Arkfalls were going to be PvP events, just the way it was presented during the first Episode Mission. Where you had to get to the Arkfall, and instead of fighting NPC units, you were going to have to fight other Players for the treasures that await inside.

    I am still enjoying the Arkfalls already in the game though.

    Also I like Faas's idea of being rewarded depending on your contribution. I'm not sure if this is implemented in the game just now. But would be nice if you are at the Arkfall for the longest, get the most kills, do most damage or whatever, you get better rewards.

    And getting an Arkfall similar to the ones in the Show shouldn't be too hard I would imagine. Working your way in, then having to defend it from the inside from Raiders/Hellbugs or whatever.

    As for Shadow Wars, I'm in the same boat as probably the rest of people. I don't like queueing for something for half an hour. I usually join Shadow Wars when I see one on the map that's already started.

    Agree 100%.

    That is why I am voting and wishing for a random Arkfall event that ties to Shadow Wars.

    It promotes so many good things:

    --People playing Shadow Wars.
    --Big Arkfall like in TV show
    --Another variety and more fun Arkfall
    --Hopefully promote team work more
    --Makes the "game" more like the "tv show"
    --More reason to play Shadow War for loot
    --Fun factor would increase with clans (something I personally do not care about but seems lots do)
    --Also gives Arkfalls a 3-D feel with different levels to fight in being external and internal
    --Idea is a win-win in many ways
