    What MMO's did you play prior to Defiance?

    Just a thread about what other games you played or still play before making the switch.
    Personally I played;
    - WoW (Still dabble these days)
    - FFXI
    - SwtOR
    - GW2
    - Runescape (a long time ago :P)

    I play Rift and Champions Online (which I fled to after City of Heroes shut down.) I have tried both version of Guild Wars, DC Universe Online, Star Trek Online (and man do I regret that one...) and a few others. I used to play Warcraft but while I liked the game, I despise Blizzard and eventually I made the choice to just stop giving them money.

    I always considered Rift but never actually got it. I didn't enjoy Guild Wars 2 much, not sure why. Star Trek really that bad?
    Blizzard have managed to snooker their players, they've made what some people call the best MMO out there which people thoroughly enjoy, but they charge extortionate amounts for just about everything.

    RuneScape - went no-life on it until about 2009 when I started not caring for it at all. Still played it on and off until they released that EoC thing.
    GW2 - no-lifed until level 80, couldn't be bothered to make another character.

    Tried my hand at a game called Sword of the new world, also some game similar to it called Hero or something like that.

    Well, it's a game of great ideas, but none of them have been put together very well, and the whole thing feels very, very clunky. I had high hopes for it because I love Star Trek and I loved City of Heroes, but it doesn't flow very well, it looks... not so good, and the constant 'OH HEY BUY THIS' messages really break any kind of game immersion. The most fun I had was designing my character. Everything from that point on went down hill fast.

    And I agree with you about Blizzard. I also had huge issues with their approach to customer complaints, but that's another long story, and ultimately comes down to 'they pissed me off and I'm still bitter about it'.

    Real shame, love Star Trek. But a lot of games seem to fall over from rushing these days.
    I know a lot of people that feel the way you do about Blizzard, I'm just waiting for my turn to be honest.

    I played WoW and Rift before I got bored and took a break from those. I've tried GW2 but didn't really get too into it. Tried Star Trek Online but I didn't like it either for reasons already mentioned. I still play Secret World which is my top MMO at the moment.
