For me i find it pointless and also useful on reviews for MMO's. Allow me to explain. It's useful for those who want to get into another MMO but wants to check and see how the Launch went. In this case, Defiance has a lot of problems with Bugs/Glitches and also with the lack of content as well. Making these reviews somewhat useful for new users or MMO vets looking for something new. However, since MMO's evolve so much with Features being added, taking out, DLC, Expansion packs ect. I myself personally find these reviews pointless. Reviewing an MMO is hard to do expect for what i said about it being useful for new MMO players or Vets alike. Cause an MMO goes under numinous changes all the time. It's hard to give a complete full on review for an MMO. Sure Defiance now is sitting on a cliff all lonely and what not but then 6 months from now. The game will evolve a lot more and makes it a better experience for new players, Vets or those who are still playing it. If that makes sense to you guys for what I'm getting at here.

I'm not SAYING that reviews are crap and no one should read them. Go nuts, have a ball reading or watching them. I just don't care for them. It's just harder to review an MMO in my personal opinion compared to a SP game or a game with a tacked on Multiplayer.

Ill prob get destroyed on this post but I'm just saying how i look at it from my own views.

*sigh* I weep for the world, for somehow a score of 6.7 out of 10 is considered "below average" ... I don't mean towards you, Jon, I mean towards reviews and 'critics' in general. A score of 5 out of 10 SHOULD be an average game, but nowadays, an 'average' game somehow seem to be around a 7 or even 8 out of 10.

Man i remember when i was kid, reading gamepro or Nintendo power and seeing reviews and not understanding what the rating meant. Yet i would still rent that game and play the crap out of it. Now, well i still do the same even though a game can be scored so badly but you know what. It's all about the fun factor and Defiance along with MANY other games out there that have gotten low end reviews i always manage to find something unique or extremely fun about. Can't say so much for the higher rated ones but they are fun and unique at times but most of the time I have to question myself on the reviews that these critics give the game and try and figure if what i just read matches to there score. In most cases it doesn't.

Sad thing is 343 Industries did it to themselves. That graph is stone cold proof of it.

I grew so tired of the way the forums were being moderated I decided to post basically the following -- it is horrible how the mods are treating people in these forums by banning people simply because disagree with them and then the mods let their friends insult everyone and nothing is done to them. I would love for a moderator or BS Angel to PM me so I may discuss in a professional manner how these forums could be improved and managed better. Being a huge Halo fan that has purchased all the games including the Legendary Edition of Reach, Collectors Edition of Halo 2, Limited Edition of Halo 4, the Halo Reach console and Halo 4 console, the comics, the novels, just to name a few. All I want is a good and fair place to discuss Halo.

That is almost word for word what I posted. No foul language, etc., at all. I use to enjoy Halo and going to Halo Waypoint always kept me excited to play Halo. But the place has become the ghetto and impossible to talk about anything without fear of being banned. So guess what they did after that post? They permabanned me. No joke.

Now since I can not go in and discuss Halo there in any capacity I stopped playing it (obvious tons of other people doing the same since 343 Industry does not care about their consumers). I used to play Halo and even Halo 4 for about 4 hours every night after work. I honestly enjoyed Halo 4.

But that complete immature display of a power tripped mod just disgusted me into not spending any more money on Halo. Done with it.

Defiance pulled me in with a great game, great TV show, and the mods here are a million times better then that shtako filled place known as Halo Waypoint. Honestly I hope 343 Industries goes belly up by allowing the mods to treat forum members like that and allowing the mods to let their friends say whatever they want and get away with it like it was high school.

I spent one heck of a lot of money on Halo. That money now goes to Defiance. Starting with the GameStop Ultimate Edition I gladly purchased on launch day of Defiance.

343 Industries good luck with your future with treating your customers like garbage.

I believe a 5.5 was generous. This game has been broken since day 1 and there isn't any fix on the horizon yet.

Not familiar with that site. Is it reliable and not BS?

Honestly I thought Halo 4 was the most fun online of any Halo in the series. The kills did not feel cheap, the pacing was great. I loved it.

Only thing that went wrong with Halo 4 was first and foremost the way 343 Industries let their customers get treated in the forums by the mods. It was pure and quite simply unethical. Second, they bent and caved in to the MLG crowd to completely change the way the game was made. MLG is such a small percent of the game's player base that it is not worth catering to that small MLG percent and ruin the game for others that enjoyed it.

Makes me sad. Another game that destroyed itself was Battlefield 3. Taking out the DICE servers but for like 2 of them and letting the Rent a Servers be the main place to play just killed that game and because of that I will never buy another Battlefield title now.

You're right a 5.0 would be more accurate.

Also you need to worry a little less about IGN - here is a list of about 20 other reviews that gave the game an equal score.

Yes, but I wonder how much time all those reviewers actually spent playing the game?

If you play Defiance for about an hour or 2 then say ok, I played it, I'm done now, and it sucks. You are just short changing yourself.

Another example, Borderlands 1. That game is so darn boring and not worth playing until you unlock the fast travel and the game gets better. That does not happen till about 3 or 4 hours in I'd say.

So dropping out and calling it done you miss out on rest of Borderlands 1 and the great DLC, and also the blast that Borderlands 2 is to play.

    Just saying.

everyone rates it down...but plays the crap out of it and says its fun. am i missing something??
who cares about all the bs...the game is fun. isn't that all that matters? i feel like im in bazaro world.
If someone only played the game for ~20 hours you would complain that they have no understanding of the game's mechanics as they have not spent enough time playing. If a player spends 100+ hours and says the game needs work, you are now calling them idiots for having the experience needed to have a valid opinion? Bizarro indeed.

Also, no one is saying that Defiance doesn't have its fun moments, only that the game is far from perfect and has a long, long way to go to reach its full potential.
