It seems that if a game doesn't have 'Of Duty' or 'Of War' in it's title then it stands no chance. As yet there isn't a link on the official site but as soon as it's available I'll post it. Cue the "Pics of it didn't happen" bull****tery.

Sites like IGN and Gamespot have focused solely on the games bugs and reviewed them. It's a total shame because being two of the biggest gaming sites people will religiously believe their words as gospel truth.

As I've said many times before, Defiance has a following of true players who - regardless of the many bugs which admittedly do get to us sometimes - we play on and enjoy the game for what it is.

    Happy Ark Hunting!
A review is about a game as is. Giving a score based on potential is nothing but guesswork, rainbows, and unicorns.

    IGN is a difficult topic.
While they did deliver some good reviews in the past they've become a quite unreliable source.
This is not about Defiance, but also about other shooters like SF;TX which are great games but got crushed to to lack of advertisement and biased reviews.

Imho IGN completely ignores most of the gameplay and just reviews the graphics.
Their reviews are fast food and they rarely take the time to really come to know the game.

How else can you justify their reviews for BF3, ME3 and the good CoD ratings?
Those games are simply shiny cash ins which have barely any of the gamplay and innovation left that used to stand for their names (BF3 fanboy flame inc.).

Rofl @ this. Once again, please check ME3 metacritic score so we can kill this foolishness. IGN rated a whooping 2 points higher than its average. There are also a number of sites that rated it higher than IGN. Maybe the game isn't the problem. Maybe it you peoples delusional views whenever a mediocre game, you enjoy, doesn't receive similar praise as titles that are leaps and bounds better. CoD hasn't been visually impressive since MW2 so I don't know what the heck you're even talking about there. A number of sites that reviewed BO2 even stated how visually unimpressive it is. The excuses up here are making less sense by the day.

Every thing they said hit the nail on the dead. Funny thing is with the fanboys in thie community/forum is if you disagree with anyone, say the game sucks, agree with the bad reviews, prove people wrong, you are a "Troll" its funny.
Not a post to create an argument. Fan of the game yes I am. Disagree with the score rating yes, disagree with what he said in the review no. Point being is company can release the same game year after year and the game gets rated high still.

IGN just like many other review sites use a number of writers and bases their review on more then just your gameplay experience. IGN especially tends to review games from more of a "technical prowess" standpointinstead of the shear enjoyment factor.

And anyone who says that this game is anymore then a 5 from a technical
perspective doesn't play the current Gen of PC games.

If you play Defiance for about an hour or 2 then say ok, I played it, I'm done now, and it sucks. You are just short changing yourself.

Another example, Borderlands 1. That game is so darn boring and not worth playing until you unlock the fast travel and the game gets better. That does not happen till about 3 or 4 hours in I'd say.

So dropping out and calling it done you miss out on rest of Borderlands 1 and the great DLC, and also the blast that Borderlands 2 is to play.

    Just saying.

I played it for 3 and a half weeks and give it a 5.

And what exactly would you experience playing it long term that you wouldn't experience from just playing it for a decent bit for a few days? Quests don't change, story doesn't change, nothing really changes. Maybe they would get to see the 1 major scrapper arkfall instead of a hellbug one?

I can't say I disagree with a single review so far on IGN. Everyone of em has been pretty accurate. Same with that angry guy.

Think most the defenders of defiance are more than likely extremely casual and play 1 hour at most a day. Get passed 100 hour mark and I think you will change your tune. If you really think having to grind the same boring **** every day to progress is fun, well I dunno what to say....maybe try some Korean grinders, they have more content.
