the manager of my other gamestop bought his xbox copy used and he was able to play online fine... no problems. he is the one who recommended that i pick the game up. he's actually a good guy. these other turds are pretentious d bags. like, the one guy only plays zelda games. he says, there is no reason to play anything else. the guy who sold me my new copy has worked there forever but he is a huge pc gamer and scoffs whenever i buy ps3 games. he smugly looks down his nose at every time i mention ps3.

Yeah mine is, if anything, overly optimistic about every title - but actually make for decent conversation in the end.

I got a similar response when i bought Phantasy Star for the xbox 360. Instead of just selling me the game he went on about why would a buy a game that needs a monthly subscription. People at gamestop are not normally MMO players.

Hers the funny thing with GameStop. Nobody who works there plays the games, ever. It seems they don't play anything. I don't ask their opinions. Hers why. I know you didn't. Anyway I asked a few years back about fallout 3, borderlands, mass effect 2 and dead space The two dudes said they were horrible games. I picked up all four games for about 40 bucks. I went against what they said. I'm glad I did because I played all of them back to back and they ended up being my favorite games of all time. Actually I started with fallout 3 and was not impressed. I had never played an rpg like that. I was still in the vault when I quit. Went to borderlands and fell in love. Dead space I played at night and loved it. Mass effect 2 I played in two days and was hooked. Was about to return fallout 3 when I decided to try it. Saw the wasteland for the first time and couldn't put it down.

Those four games are in the top ten of games I've played. I couldn't believe the GameStop dudes called them horrible. GameStop is good for one thing, convenience. Oh and preorders. They suck on opinions

What makes it worst its that people dont even ask their opinion and yet they try telling everyone whats a good game and whats not and most parents just listen to them. And thats how COD copies get sold.

The problem with gamestop, like most retail companies in this nation anyway, is there are no requirements on who can and can not work there. You need absolutely no knowledge of games, hardware, or even that games exist so long as you will work for minimum wage. My gamestop here in town just got a new girl who, and I quote: "Doesnt like... play video games. She's like... just there for like... a summer job. Like, isnt that what people have like... phones for." I mean seriously?!
