Trion, why so secretive about DLC?

Yeah, what the heck trion. Its been like 4 weeks since release, where's our DLC.

a little insight into the future dlc would be nice though. i know a lot of people that haven't bought the season pass because we know zilch about it.

They are STILL trying to get this game out of alpha.

The game has only been out a few weeks. If a dlc came out so soon i'd get that "they are selling me on disc dlc" sickening feeling

I understand where you're coming from with that, but I don't think it's going to end up being that way. More likely, it's the DLC owners who will be disappointed. According to the developers, in order to avoid splitting up the community there will be a free component and paid component with each of these 5 DLC packages. For example (and this is a quote) : “the free part is features and content, the paid part is essentially, say, access to a new playable species with a bundle of stuff with it.”

So, if they tack on a section of map and put new missions there, everyone will have access to it. But only people who paid for the DLC will have access to the new playable species and whatever that "bundle of stuff" is. Probably lock boxes. :/ With as useless as new races are, I doubt anyone who didn't pay is going to complain.

They advertised all 5 DLC will be out this year, with additional free-for-everyone DLC on top of that.

I think it would be diff to say what they have planned vs releasing something already. I didn't buy the pass bc i bought the hundred dollar version and 140 for a simplistic game kills me hehe. I spent the hundred bc i knew j have a thing for these shooter mmos

Still tho they are gonna polish the game first before releasing dlc or the community is going to erupt. well... moreso than usual xD

Really at this point in time i do not care about dlc i just want the game to run properly.
It has been getting bad at my end since i now am getting close to level 400
The blog however does share some info and it does seem they are working hard at it
I just wonder if they will add more vehicles, i want me a mad max vehicle, lol

first DLC will be the breaking point for a large proportion of the player base once they realize the amount of content.

The lack of communication by Trion has only managed to turn enthusiasm and speculation into resentment, especially for UE, CE, and seasons pass holders.

any MMO player EGO 2000 or above has already or will soon realize that this game has nothing a traditional MMO calls for, no ability to play with more than 3 friends in any given PvE or PvP encounter, and such basic encounters you dont need any type of organization to complete.

While the gameplay and mechanics are still fun, paper thin content and lack of community purpose will surely kill this when first DLC bombs, providing what I expect to be more go fetch pursuits for the casual player.
