how do you level up weapon skills?

So, either I missed something, or I am seeing a glitch. I've killed a few thousand enemies with the same LMG. I've never leveled up my light machine skill.

I have, however, watched the little progress bar on the lower left of my HUD fill up and reset half a dozen or so times. When that bar fills up with my roller I get a flashy rank up message.

So, is the problem that I am using the same LMG? Do I need to rotate through different LMGs to rank up my weapon skill (in other words, is there a cap to how much xp I can gain toward weapon skills with the same weapon)? Or am I seeing a glitch that has stunted my progression?

    Thanks for any info.

If the particular LMG is capped on EXP then switch it with another LMG that isn't and then the actual LMG tree will continue.

You must change your weapon everytime its skill maxes to keep lvling the class.

Short answer is yes, you have to switch LMG's to level the skill.

essentially each weapon can only get so much experience before it stops earning and you have to switch, it took me something on the order of 40 Green LMG's to get the skill to level 20..

if you look at the weapon details if its experience bar is full, it no longer earns Exp towards the actual skill. its annoying, but thats how it is

    1/ Go to vendor.
2/ Buy a bunch of same weapons u like to lvl up.
3/ Run scrapworks / 101 coop maps over and over again.
4/ Whenever your gun gets max XP (game will popup info about it), salvage weapon and continue with other u bought.

Kinda funny but you have hit the nail on the head. Each individual weapon has its own exp cap and once it is reached you will not earn any more xp toward your overall weapon rating for that type of gun.

To level your LMG the fastest the best idea is to carry several copies of the gun you like to use so you can change them out after they have been maxed out. I carry 6 copies of the FRC Saw I like (they each have an exp cap of around 925000) I tend to do a lot of arkfalls so I use the guns a lot and they tend to fill up pretty quickly like that.

Also if you trade that maxed out weapon to someone else, they wont get any exp from it either, so once a gun is maxed its just best to sell it or break it down.

Weapons don't get exp in arkfalls. So, no.

The game will NOT popup info about your gun being maxed out. You will have to check for yourself.

I usually get alot of weapons from vendors, then go run san quentin*don't know how to spell it from memory). And keep fighting the hulker and enemies. Hulkers allow you to do double damage, and with there tons of health, they yield lots of xp

It tells you the weapon got a level. Weapons only get one level, so the game is telling you it maxed out.
