how do you level up weapon skills?

Anyone know whats the quickest kind of weapon to use to max the skill with? Also whats the fastest way to do it?

The different type of arkfall might be a good point to bring up. I tested doing a Hellbug Arkfall with a Hellion as the boss. I also made sure to shoot each type of mob at least once in case that would alter anything, as well as one Crystal.

Just got done with a Prosperity in '99 minor arkfall and my guns went up. Screenshots taken will post as soon as I can.

Any enemy that gives you exp after you kill them gives weapon exp, including some MINOR arfalls. NO major arkfalls do this.

The type of arkfall has never mattered to whether I get exp on my guns. I always do. Arkfalls are what I do most. Im level 19 in LMGs. If I didnt get weapon xp at arkfalls Id be no where near level 19. I will get on the game later and get more screenshots of me at a major arkfall.

That's weird. Your experience gains don't even match the damage output you had. I expected a small difference due to grenade use, but you're missing 209,000 experience.

Never done any experimenting but Id doubt that weapon exp would be tied to damage in a straight 1 for 1 ratio.

Also I didnt use any grenades.

Everything I've heard is that it's a 1:1 ratio.

I'm trying to get StarCraft to work so I won't be testing it right now!

Well I am very curious about this so I hope others will post their experiences as well.

I wont be on for a few more hours but its game night tonight for my clan so Ill be on later for sure and Ill definitely run a check during a major arkfall.

That bar under you weapon is actually a damage bar, you lvl up your weapon is based on how much damage you've done with it. Most weapons have about 900,000 damage till max you could easily max weapon skills within a major arfall but the enemies don't give any exp when you kill them so how you are lvling up your weapons with major arkfalls is confusing.
