Again, they need to make the chat window resizable, and give us a PM/IM system (whatever they want to call it).

I want to be able to resize my chat window whatever size I want
I want to be able to move my chat window (mouse drag) to whatever screen location I want
I want to be able to send Private Messages/Instant Messages to players. Friends, Clanmates, and others.

In all honesty, I'm not sure if a chat overhaul will do all that much at this point. The entire playerbase is used to not using chat by now.

You may be right..I think there are a great many people who don't play the game because it might as well be a single player game. The game just does not have the social element many MMO players want.

Here here! As an MMOer, I want those social elements. Not just that, but the social element builds community, helps coordination, lets you get help, advice, etc. Although, the first person shooter crowd probably just uses voice for coordination. Voice is usually very low in this game too. Oftentimes you can barely hear people.

That's the thing. We've had a month to settle into the game and get used to its (lack of) social features. We've learned how to do everything on our own, even the co-op missions.

If they could magically flip a switch and give us one of the best chat systems in the world tomorrow, would it make all that much of a difference? We've learned how to do everything in silence, so the new systems (though I'm sure they'd be used somewhat) would seem just sort of... tacked-on.

The game's convinced us we don't need it now, so why would we need it soon?

I'd think it'd be cool if the chat popped up on screen like in phantasy star universe, make it easy to distinguish people and to read better. Of course an option to disable and enable that.

YOU are right I solved my problem with the sucky game chat....I logged in once this week for about 15 min. Without a decent chat system I'm simply not playing the game and I can not recommend the game to any new players because of this.
