Haven't fully tested yet, but it seems to work fine in the open area. From what I hear from the Xbox/PC side, they break in co-op and pvp though.Originally Posted by Facade

Well, mine does in both group and clan chat. Haven't checked area yet...
Skype is your friend!
Doesn't work out very well for consoles unless your computer is close by, which rules out every one of my friends.
You know you can download Skype for free on to a smart phone right?
I have the app on my i5 and it works great, just remember to hook your phone up wifi so it doesn't kill the battery.
Playing Defiance is a ton more fun when talking to all your friends all at once.
Truth is, I don't think it's Defiance mics that are bugged up....seems to me every game on PS3 has had buggy mics at some point.
Using Skype means that mic support is one thing that I never complain about.
Yea I know, but we're not going to set up Skype on a phone to chat in game. Especially considering most of us use headsets.
That's what my friends do but as for me I just listen to last.fm and pay extra close attention to everything!
Can still be used with headsets if you have ear buds.
I use Astro A50's and can comfortably wear ear buds underneath my Astros.
Just turn down voice chat on Astros and turn up game volume a bit. Should note that this method works extremely well for drowning out nagging wives as well as bratty kids.
Basically it's win-win-win! LOL!
