Unfortunately though I guarantee they will not go for having to install app on the phone to talk on 1 game. Hopefully it works out for us otherwise we'll probably just go back to playing something else again for now.

Well, if your mates can't be bothered to download a free app and spend a few min setting up (or just logging in) maybe they aren't worth talking to in the first place. Once it's done, it's done and all you have to do is start the app and start chatting. It's way faster than waiting for everyone to reboot and hoping against hope that mics will work "this time." LOL!

I too hope the mics work but after playing numerous titles with spotty mics my iPhone and Skype are always within reach, you know...just in case.

That's just it though, we don't do that anymore. We just play something else.

We were ok with doing it when the game initially launched, but unfortunately this no longer has that "new game" feeling and it's getting rather boring after beating it. Rather than go through extra hassle, we just go to a game where it works.

You know you can download Skype for free on to a smart phone right?
I have the app on my i5 and it works great, just remember to hook your phone up wifi so it doesn't kill the battery.

Playing Defiance is a ton more fun when talking to all your friends all at once.

Truth is, I don't think it's Defiance mics that are bugged up....seems to me every game on PS3 has had buggy mics at some point.
Using Skype means that mic support is one thing that I never complain about.

Just the MMO's, usually. DCUO still has effs up if you don't turn your mic on BEFORE starting the game.

That actually threw me off when playing on my PC account. I kept hearing music I never heard before.
