no, because most of those players were only running it through steam for the initial installer client. Now, most people load the game outside of steam
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

I bought it through steam but wanted the game fully downloaded before it went live, so I never bothered installing it there. I went directly to Trion and downloaded it there. I'm sure I'm far from the only person who did that. (Especially since I got the idea from the Steam Forums)

Back on topic, I'm still having fun in the game and have yet to do everything. But I'm taking my time with it. Looking forward to the DLCs when they happen but not buying them until they do.

but its still not a lie if yo usay there is lass players playign at any given time.

More then half of he players login only for a short time or not even daily anymore. Do some pvp or coop and such and log off or afk.

And with the broken emergency rewards now and contribution... you see less and less people outside the common fast travel spots.

I wonder where will that game be in a month or two when even more have gotten bored of it.

I haven't even logged in for weeks, I finished the main story and all the side missions and been waiting for something new, I saw a tweet from defiance and got excited, until I realized it was just more pursuits.

This game was released with the least amount of content of any mmo I've ever played or even heard about and I knew it had that problem before release but I really thought trion would bring us new content quickly, now that I see that trion considers pursuits as content I regret buying this game.

another great example of how the steam #'s are inaccurate for this game. the only people who really know how many are playing, are Trion, sony, and microsoft.

I haven't done everything, but I haven't played in a few days, I only logged in Saturday for about 5 minutes. I'll likely login later in the week for the new "content". Most likely, that's how most will play - login for a few hours to grind out a new achievement or check out the new DLC, since there's nothing to really engage people daily once the main plotlines are done, except showing a few arkfalls or PvP matches with bullets.

I was optimistic somewhat... but more then a month of shtako....wont happen.
Its like politics.. there is always tons of people who believe in the promises and hope somethign will happen but never does.

And TBH i have done mmo development myself, not gonna name the title, but i managed to create more real content + keep community updated + the "pursuit like" stuff in a month ALONE then trion has managed with a whole team + keeping everyone in complete darkness.

I'd recommend you look up the difference between the words "lie" and "error".

Seeing players outside of the common spots is no indication that people aren't playing, it just means they're funneled into a different area. How many people hang out in level 20 zones in WoW? Does that mean the game's dying?

You ripped "lie" out of context.
I didnt say anyone was lieing there.
