I think the one that irritates me the most is when it puts "+ x% damage on melee attack" on a damn Sniper rifle.
Such a complete waste of a bonus.

Thanks to you and Ralron for clarifying on this. I'm sure/know that there is a list of this SOMEWHERE, but i keep forgetting what they are whilst playing the game (damn my short term, erm, memory, that's it!)
Quick question based on effects: Does Electric damage drain shields quicker too, or am i stuck in Borderlands mentality?
There's also a negligible DoT that ticks for 7 damage, but no bonus damage against shields.
Nano effects are much more universally useful in Defiance and more rely on using them with the right weapon than using them against the right mob type.
Explosion would technically count as a nano effect with 100% chance if you want a comparison to Borderlands and here it does have an effect against specific enemies (eg. Rioters).
Obviously not. The only problem is the scopes that should have the same negative modifier to in fact increase your accuracy.
There are many types of mobs, solo & group play and there is PvP ... if every weapon would be equally fit to be the best choice in every situation we'd effectively have only one gun.
Melee bonus is a waste on everything to be honest.
There are really fun things you can get with other weapons though ... - recoil for your detonator? ;>
Tgreen - Cheers for the reply. I have been wondering if it was worth me modding my Electric AR for shielded enemy purposes, but did think the fully modded Blue fire AR was doing the job just as well.
With ref to melee: I don't like melee builds in TPS/FPS generally, but a nice melee nano on my shotgun would be a blessing for sure.
Only melee bonus that has any worth is siphon nano, since it can heal you ... any other way if mobs get into melee range you either want to blast them with your shotgun for massive damage or roll away as quickly as possible if you don't have one. ;>
About using gun as a club for Syphon ton work. I've seen this symbol next to the word "melee" indicating that you would need to hit the mob but I also have a gun that has the Syphon symbol next to the gun image which I will assume the affect will work only if I shoot an enemy instead of beating them to death. I only assume this because any other gun with a nano effect like fire would be in the same spot instead.
Am I wrong? Is Syphon strictly melee no matter what?
