Err, anywho, yeah, mine's been fluctuating up and down. I think it's a combination of how many people are downloading resulting in fluctuating bandwidth available as mine typically pushes about 500-750k/sec... but has been dropping at times down to 150k-200k. (Like when I went to bed, it was trucking, said it had about 4 hours left... and it's still going!? LULz.) It could also be an issue somewhere in the length of server hops (like one or two servers going slow, being bogged, or being down and the packets having to be rerouted)... wouldn't hurt to do a trace-route to trion.com and see if there's any hokey jumps along the way.

Ya, not likely anything that can be done. I was curious as to them asking what region - was unaware that region was playing a role at the moment for beta.
I downloaded it fine last night maybe you need to turn off a firewall or something.
there is a euro server and a us server
yeah, mines STILL downloading. hope it goes faster soon.
It picked up again around 75%, just about max speed and then before the bar reached the end, it went blank.
Speed didn't change, but the bar started over and gave me another X:XX:XX amount of time (almost identical to what I started with).
I keep refreshing the Defiance Beta folder and the size isn't changing.

Funny my average speed was 5MB/s, no where near my max or the 15MB/s i got when beta testing Rift but hey i got the game well before the beta faze goes live.
EDIT:
just started the patcher to see if there was a new patch and there was i patched @ ~3MB/s . . .
0.05mb/s here and 3 days to finish...
