Keep leveling? Do you need numbers to satisfy your skinner box needs? (google skinner box mmo if you have no clue as to what I'm talking about)

Can't you just enjoy the playing of the game without pushing the button to get a treat?

right now a player with starting gear can kill me. In fact, he has a pretty decent chance of killing me. The main deciding factor in PvE and PvP is player skill. Gear won't let you faceroll content like other MMOs. And that is the best part of the game. Removing that aspect will kill the game.

yes, BUT highly likely they wont because they are just learning the game mechanics
will use self as an example. This was the first shooter have ever gotten into and when ego 100 was crap but over time skill improved because of time spent in the game and became much better. Also just from the fact that no 2 games are completely alike in mechanics/ controls

yes in theory ego 100 can kill ego 2000 BUT in real world the ego 100 will be slower and less fluid in using the controls as they train muscle memory on a new game they just started as vs someone who has spent more time in game and is at ego 2000 and learned the unique to this game control issues etc

uhh, yeah. What they're asking for is an additional hurtle for new players to jump by scaling weapons so high ego rating players would have an even greater advantage which I don't think is a very good idea.

I just read todays community-blog, where the listed a lot of the thing Trion "heard" that we wanted. I´m not that good a reading english, but I did not see them, mention "contribution reward system changed back" as something they have heard the players want.

This is strange I think, as this problem here are my number 1 issue now. I love the game, but it is annoying im forced to play in a way that I not only thinj is boring, but and also frustrate other players at the same time.

and think a shallow differential segregation on pvp should be implemented ego 10 -500 , ego 500-2000, 2000-5000 . especially the segregated 10-500 starters because nothing worse than entering a PVP arena for the 1st time to test it out against people who have done the same arena 100 times and know where every little box, cover, thing is

That is a skill/learning curve. It is fine and desirable.

A gear curve cannot be overcome with skill, it locks in the veterans dominance, and frustrates the lower player if he is better.

it's the best way to learn. You see something someone else is doing that works really well, copy it, use it, see why it works and what its weakness is. Trying to segment the population isn't going to help players get better at playing their characters.

I'd be happy if they just fixed the stuff that's broken before trying to implement new things that will be broken. At this point, I'd be impressed if they could implement any 1 thing on that list that wouldn't be launched broken.

It needs to be evenly balanced. It's a Third Person Shooter first, an MMO second. They need to balance and give the PvPers something to do, as that is what's at the heart of a TPS. When we run out of Story Content, we need to be able to play the PvP content like we would any other online shooter, repeatedly.

It would only need to be evenly balanced if equal numbers of players were interested in PvP and PvE. I've never seen that to be the case in any MMO I've played. Put the development where the players are.

So how is a gear curve different than the EGO curve? If the veteran player has 9 maxed out perks optimized to their playing style, and the starting player has one or two of the ones that first become available, doesn't that also provide the veteran with an edge that isn't based on skill? Do you think the starting player will see it differently?

I mean, it's PvP, so I'm not really invested in the argument either way, except Trion keeps screwing with the PvE side to try to balance PvP. I'm just curious how people justify one but not the other.
