The PS3 joysticks still have deadzone/sensitivity problems. After the latest patch this problem is not as bad as it was but it still happens.
* Left stick (move forward/run) - Can be moving or running forward and when the stick is returned to centre your character is supposed to stop but instead keeps moving forward. This problem is bad because if you have the perk to take less damage while standing still, this bug makes that useless.
* Right stick (aim) - Aiming is also affected by poor deadzones/sensitivity. When the right stick is centred, your aim is supposed to stop moving but instead is continues to drift. Aiming also seems to suffer from an increased sensitivity right arround the centre position of the stick, meaning any tiny movement of the stick is amplified and moves your aim much more than it should. Its my understanding that the more you deflect the aim joystick the faster your aim should move, which is not always the case. I also find that when standing still and swapping to aiming down sights (ADS) my charcter will start to move forward, swapping back and my character is standing still again.
Both of the above problems mean that most of your time is spent battleing with the controls instead of enjoying the game, trying to get your character to do what you want it to do.
In honesty, I am left wondering how such a bug could get past any kind of play-testing as this problem is so obvious to anybody spending more than five minutes playing! I have posted about it before and this problem is not unique to me and does not happen in any other games.
Although I have read on the forums of other players having these controller problems, I have not seen anybody from Trion even acknowledge the problem exists.
