So, uh...who asked for more emergency missions?

    Did anyone ask for more?
I remember people complaining about lack of variety so I think Trion got confused and added MORE and with a ridiculous frequency.

I looked forward to playing today all day at work and rushed home to check out this patch and now I can't walk 10ft without an emergency popping up. I now refuse to drive on any paved roads in the Bay Area because there are roadblocks and invisible monarchs every 20ft.
Even in a runner heading cross country I'm finding emergency mission literally in the middle of NOWHERE!

I did a main mission and on my way to the next objective I counted 13 emergency missions, some of which were so close together the bugs and mutants were fighting each other....that is until I came to close and ALL OF THEM STARTING ATTACKING ME!

Highlight of the night was stumbling on to a "wandering hulker" next to a hellbug hive and watching him hulk smash 30 bugs by himself before he got bored and came after me. Very entertaining to watch but seriously, is it just me or are there a crazy amount of emergency missions?
I see now why they removed key codes from emergencies....if I was farming then I could max out in 15 min or less.

Oh, and side missions; is it reall necessary to fight 20-30 baddies for a "quick" SIDE MISSION?
Granted, I've spent the majority of my time in game screwing around and Arkfall hunting so I'm only just completed act 3 but some of these side missions have more enemies than any main mission I've done to this point. It's borderline out of control.

Trion has basically forced a player to find a group now. Before this patch I could work side missions solo but now I'm dropping way more often than before. I don't mind dying at all, especially in this game but it does get rather annoying, especially when I extract 500m from where I was and spawn on surrounded by Hellbugs.

On a happy note; love the chat channels. For some reason that I cannot comprehend Trion made a MMO with 100 players in a server and thought that MMO fans only have 3 friends.
News flash Trion; Most MMO fans may only have 3 flesh and blood friends (if you include the mom and dad) but in a digital world MMO fans have waaaay more than 3 friends.
So now having this clan channel working makes it a lot more fun to talk to more than 3 people at a time.

Still loving the game though. Just my two cents.

When it comes to games MORE is ALWAYS better.

    Content>Gameplay>Story>Graphics

By that logic Medal of Honor Warfighter should be a great game but it sucks.
Even if I agreed with your logic (which I don't, content before game play? Really?) I would say that the new frequency of emergency missions detract from the overall Defiance experience. I still love the game and just finished an 8 hour session after a 12 hour work day.
What I'm saying is that it's OVERKILL.
They took away the only reason for stopping for an emergency (key codes) and offer us nothing but some scrip, some weapon drops and maybe a pursuit or two.

Even though pre-patch there were "less" emergencies I still routinely did them but now I hit the boost and tear on by, I don't even stop for Siri to tell me that someone needs help.
Between side missions, main missions, coop missions, Arkfalls, and PVP there is a ton of chances to earn scrip/weapon drops/mods and everything else.
The only reason to do emergencies was for the key codes and a chance to waste 72 of them on 3 tier 3 boxes and have weapons to break down....oh, and maybe the odd orange you might get.

Btw, adding more emergency missions isn't adding content so your logic is flawed.

The only reason to stop for emergencies isnt keycodes... long before I even saw people complaining on the forums I was just playing the game. The emergencies are FUN and I had no idea whether they gave key codes or not when I stopped at them between missions.

    LOL@ filthy casual! Too funny.
So do you stop for every single emergency now? All 10,000 of them?
Trion should call this game "Emergency Bonanza!"

Oh and that's a nice link. The website wasn't taking multiplayer in to account.
If I wanted to I could tear through all main missions in Defiance in a few hours, just like MoH:WF. But we both know that playing the multiplayer aspect of Defiance is what makes it special, just like playing multiplayer is easily the best part of MoH:WF. If that game was a better product, say like Battlefield 3 one could spend easily 1000 hours playing.
I know this because I'm over 700 hours in on BF3 multiplayer so I don't think "casual" applies to my gaming habits.
Please, let's not cheapen our debate with pointless insults. I don't know you (I assume you're female judging by the sig) and you don't know me. What defines a "true" fan of Defiance? Someone like you who apparently has multiple characters? If so, I'll start a new one today.

Lets agree to disagree on these emergency missions. I say it's too much whereas you seem to enjoy it.
I would like to check my map/ type a text message/ make a sandwich/ send a group invite without being mauled by a 50 Hellbugs or shot at by 20 mutants in the middle of nowhere.

Some might consider adding emergency missions as "content" but it isn't and despite how badly you might want it to be it never will be.

Nice quote crop, most of these guys around here can barely form a sentence much less crop a quote without deleting a bracket leaving the bb open ended and looking like crap.
    Props girl.

Topic is still valid; emergencies are pointless and too frequent.
