PlaySation 4 outdated before launch!

For me at least PC gaming was to much hassle...(That and my computer chair's uncomfortable as F**k)
Console's may not be as powerful, but even a die hard PC fan has to see the convenience of it.

Though i do get kinda bummed when my friend talk about all his mods for skyrim and all his epic battles in Planetside 2

my switching from pretty much pure PC Gaming to consoles has to do with a simple phrase.

"Will my computer run this?" which is what I have to ask about every single PC Game that has ever come out.

with my Console, I never have to ask that question. and I still get good-looking, fun games to play.

once MMOs really start making the transition to Consoles (Defiance and Dust 514 are the first two that are really made for consoles, the rest are just ports), I'll miss absolutely nothing about PC Gaming.

lol, Just look at the specs of the PS4 there a joke. My current 2 year old gaming PC has 3x the specs of the PS4 and my PC only cost me about $1200.

Only $1200 huh? Money isn't an issue for me but i still wouldn't spend that much on a gaming system. I play games to relax and have fun so the ps4(or new xbox) would be more than fine for people who play games for recreation,and the specs are only a joke for the few people who choose to spend double or more the cost of a console. As for gamers like myself,(which is most gamers) we will be fully satisfied and blown away with what they will achieve with these $4 to $500 specs.

you forget ff11, it was intended for console to start, via ps2, it just had transition delays converting from the japan market, and in that same time was being made on pc, which has less federal laws and policies that govern the consumer end product.

take note.. running linux 5.4 on my ps3, I enjoyed plenty of pc games, to include WoW until patch 3.0..

thechnically anything shipped in a box with some brand name on it is "outdated" by the time the consumer gets it, at least as far as performance potential goes. no.. they didn't need to make a new playstation, ps3 has more than enough power with the cell proc to do the workload, BUT.. it is a market of competition, and also the next console, having an x86 platform, will be much easier for publishers to produce for.

who will really win the war? the one who eliminates the line between console and "pc" devices.
for this year? given the specs announced by MS, and those from Sony.. from a hardware point of view and marketing point of view (PS is global) it will be playstation. only viral advertising and false rumor mills kept people thinking 360 was doing better.

189.99 up front and no additional cost to play online? with less than .05% failure rate? (ps3)

or 199.99 up front, plus an extra amount just to play, with less people, online, not to mention, the cost of replacing that console as it burns out every ~4 months..(went from 87.4% failure rate to today's 54.7% failure rate.. wtf?) leading to a potential cost of $3,300 over 5 years, not including the price of games..(which only hold an average of 4-18 hours of gameplay) replacing batteries (or paying for additional gear to get rechargeable controllers, and special headsets..).. trying, expensively, to get as close as possible to the capabilities of the other console..


with twice the number of online players vs xbox live.. PS hasn't been "gaining steam" it has , as always, pushed the envelope of home gaming for the common consumer. It is always better to get the facts, compare the data, and look at the truth, objectively. This would make a better, wiser consumer. Had that been done by most people.. there would not have been a 360...

It doesn't matter if it's outdated or not, we're still going to be drowning in sequels and games where style is more important than substance. And with the power the PS3 has ports should be better on PC.

If you had to ask yourself that question every time a new game came out you're clearly doing it wrong. And what makes you think MMO's will start to really make a transition to consoles?

Do not be surprised if the catalogue for games next gen looks like the one consoles have now, albeit with better graphics and more focus on social ********

So just 6 then in about 7 years? 1 of which is rumored for next gen, 2 still yet to be released and 1 that no one liked (FFXIV). To have these 6 games as indicators that MMO's will really make a transition to consoles just shows you're clearly bonkers.
