Only $1200? That may not be alot of money for you to spend on a computer but it is for most people. You can build a damn good gaming pc for $700. Also, you cant even make use of more than 8gb of ram right now anyways.

My PC cost $3500 and yes it's custom designed, not an overpriced Alienware or anything. But yeah you can get a decent rig for about $700, I just don't settle for decent. I've got a lot of overkill I know but that's what I like.

Anyways. Don't necro threads and then start fighting with people. You're not gonna win any friends that way and you're just making yourself look bad. This forum is far from dead. It's one of the most active Off Topic forums I've ever seen and has one of the coolest community of folks I've ever met online.

As far as people responding quickly - a lot of us usually have this forum open in a tab in the background while we're working. So yeah, we see new threads pop up almost immediately. Hell, I have an RSS feed to this forum.

I must also agree with others i mean just buy a tv, a cell phone, PC, whatever they are all obsolete the day of purchase. Technology is in constant change. And the new consoles are $399 and $499 far less $$ then a gaming PC. To the PC poster that posted about consoles not running applications of a PC, really?
I would not even run any microsoft office crap programs on my MAC so why the heck would console players want to run office apps when we really mainly use it for gaming. Obviously PC's can do more but is the discussion not here to compare if you use hte machine for gaming only? Most PC gamers i know buy their system to only play games
