That said, I'm done with this game. It sucks because it is entertaining enough to be enjoyable, but the game's very existence has redefined the term "unstable". I understand that all MMOs have bugs at launch, but this is an unprecedented scale we're talking about here. So many things are broken that should never have been broken in the first place, if a true and *proper* Beta Testing period had occurred.
I do not appreciate being mislead into paying full price for a game that had no business being released in the state that it was in. Couple all of the bugs with this recent server outage, and the tragic lack of communication from Trion regarding it, and I'm just over it all. When every single server (for both consoles and PC) that you have goes down simultaneously, you should have a little bit more to say than "Investigating - No ETA". That only comes a cross as a "shut the hell up and leave us alone" type of slap in the face to many of us. And leaves us feeling very underappreciated. The customers are getting a very raw deal with this game, and they're not being treated very well considering that we are your ACTUAL beta testers, for all intents and purposes.
The customer support is abysmal. It takes weeks to get a response, and it is generally one of the copied-and-pasted robotic replies that indicate that the CS Representative either A) Did not read / comprehend your petition in the SLIGHTEST or B) Doesn't really care, and just wants to plow through your problem, so he can keep moving on to the others, and go home, probably both.
This game wasn't ready to be released, period. And it is us, your paying customers, that get screwed in the end because of that. When we seek help from Trion, we are left with a bitter exchange of complete insincerity that leaves us more frustrated than the original problem did in the first place.
I've always had my doubts about Trion, but this is the first title I've ever purchased from them, and the first time I've ever had any interaction with their "Customer Service" team. I can guarantee you that I will not be purchasing any title with a Trion logo on it. Ever. Again. I'd say I'd seek a refund for the game ... but we all know how that turns out. So I will just consider it to be money wasted, and a lesson learned.
That is all.
